Free Small Popcorn with Every Adult 'Event Cinemas' Ticket Purchased Using Visa Checkout

130

I saw this in a cinebuzz newsletter. You get a free small popcorn for every adult visa checkout ticket purchased online.

Based on previous promos, it may or may not work with Telstra thanks tickets (yet to be confirmed), since the only stipulation is that you purchase with Visa Checkout as your payment method.

Adult Visa Checkout ticket must be selected to receive the free popcorn and paid for using Visa Checkout. Offer is valid from 00:01 AEST Thursday 6th August 2015 until 23:59 AEST 30th September 2015 or until stock runs out. Valid at Event, Greater Union and BCC Cinemas. Online booking fees apply. Redemption of small popcorn valid for session booked and cannot be exchanged or upgraded. Surcharges apply for Vmax and 3D. Not valid for Gold Glass or in conjunction with any other promotion. 3D glasses are sold separately. Not valid at Moonlight Cinemas.

Free Small Popcorn with Every Adult Event

What kind of Adult Events ???

    • Haha very funny. Edited title for clarity.

Oh… I thought this was an after midnight deal…

  • Just a heads up, when I went to select ticket (adult, kid, senior) one of the options was "VISA Checkout + popcorn" and it was full price adult. Please confirm it works with Telstra Thanks OP (I can't because my phone is not loading it properly). Thanks.

Edit: it's right there in the T&Cs. Not a deal then.

Adult Visa Checkout ticket must be selected to receive the free popcorn

    • It can be a deal depending on where. E.g. Australia fair QLD is $7.50 for adult with popcorn, not a bad deal at all. Though agreed it's probably not at most places no.

      • You are right, it might work well for some locations. And I just checked and it works with Cheap Tuesday's tickets too. I'm revoking the neg. Thanks for pointing that out :)

  • I don't understand the fascination with popcorn. Every time I get a free one, I end up leaving most of it behind. It's far too stogey and salty, and I feel like I'm eating some sort of packaging material.

That was what I experienced, until my friend told me about the sweet caramel popcorn! Give it a try next time — not all cinemas have them, my friend said.

      • Do you know any cinemas that have them? I'm from Chile and in South America that's the typical popcorn you find at the cinemas. God I miss it so much!!!

Most Event Cinemas have them, I reckon. In Sydney, George St and Burwood for sure.

        • @scrypton:

Yeah, I think those already come in a sealed package? Like chips? I miss the ones made in the machine. It's the same machine as the salty ones but that machine makes caramel (toasted sugar, not toffee) and puts it on the popcorn.

          Thanks anyway :)

@Nachotroncoso: No, they are prepared just like the salty ones, not in a sealed package.

thats whats good about it - bland and salty. good combo with super sweet Coke and a choc top.

      1. It fills you up so you're not distracted by hunger and because it's bland you're not distracted by flavour.
      2. Social conditioning. Good times at movies = food while you watch. Traditional food at movies = popcorn.

You can order all kinds of crap at Gold class but the one I time I did it (It was a gift) I found it difficult to eat the food in the dark and it was distracting.

  • not valid with telstra discounted tickets

  • Cool! Valid at Village Cinemas too!
