SanDisk Extreme SDCZ80 64G USB3.0 $33 / Logitech G930 Headset $125 @ MSY

1000

As Store Rep hung861988 requested, some updates as below.

@5:26PM: All VIC, QLD and SA branches should have plenty of stock (more than 50+ each branch). NSW and WA all sold out but they can do back-order at special price.
If you come to branches and they do not have stock for you, just leave your contact details and their team will organize back-order for you @ $33. They will fulfill all back-order next Monday.

Part of their Weekend Deals, thought it is a good price for this fast usb3.0 flash drive.
Not a bad price for Logitech G930 too.
Enjoy!

Finally a USB 3.0 drive that is actually fast.

    • +3

Yes, up to 245MB/s read and 190MB/s write is fast.
Though I am looking for a USB flash drive with WIFI capability now.

      • Tightarse posted a special from shopping express a few days ago , sandisk 32gb (can be upgraded) with wifi… I got one and it works as described. think it was about $32

    • +4

every ozbargainer should now have at least 1 ssd and at least 1 usb 3 memory sticks =\

      • +1

        1 is under quoting.

      • +1

plus 2 external USB drives and 8 enelop batteries

    • +1

Yep I've got one and highly recommend.

  • +3

    This is an impressive drive.
I ran my work VM on my personal computer for 1 year with no performance difference than being on local disk.
    top notch stuff

  • I wonder what's the warranty on these nowadays. It used to be lifetime manufacturer warranty.

    • It's still lifetime warranty. It's shown on the back of the package.

  • I bought 2 of those Extremes for $28 each last week at MSY…

    • $28 for 16GB?!

      • +4

        64GB USB 3.0

Edit: Checked invoice and it was a promo for the Tassie store opening.

  • +2

hmmm, would prefer a 128GB drive, but not sure the Extreme Pro 128GB is worth 4x the price! wish they made an Extreme 128GB!

edit: someone negged me because i would prefer a 128GB drive??? aha, ok.

Pretty sure they won't do a price match because it's online only.

      • +3

No it says instore and online…

        • How does that work?
"You can not redeem the LPG via our online store."

When I tried to get this exact item price matched a couple of weeks ago they wouldn't do it because it was only available from Officeworks online.

        • +2

          @StevePER:
Im going to balance your vote because i misread what your claim was.
I didn't have the understanding that you meant Officeworks only sold that item online.

      • +6

I just called 1300 OFFICE and they price matched it over the phone. Ask for it to be delivered to your local Officeworks store and you won't need to pay for shipping

Sandisk 64GB Extreme is the Best USB Flash Drive currently available.

But sometimes the rating is unreliable
For example AMD FX 8350 and 8320.
There is too many Intel and NVIDIA fanboy in that web

  • The shaw mini Itx case and PSU will be $32 on friday 21 - Sunday 23. Although I wouldn't trust my computer with this $20 PSU

    • +1

      I'm actually gonna buy it. I have a Mini-ITX build that I built in a $15 plastic case from Jaycar, the board isn't secured whatsoever down as the back panel doesn't fit and there's no standoffs. Already have a 350W Antec PSU, and it's only an Atom, so power usage isn't an issue. Pretty sure the PCI card for extra SATA ports consumes more than the CPU itself with 2 drives plugged in ;-;

Buy $32 case, sell PSU for $10, $22 case with standoffs and actually looks good. GGWP.

    • 685 watts for 20 bucks?

      definitely no thanks jeff.

  • Have owned one of these for awhile and you won't be disappointed in the performance. Buying a second at this price!

  • +1

I use one of these and love it. Dont really need a second but so tempting.

Can someone will be more than kind to buy it & ship it to Top End NT? MSY doesn't ship to NT , feel alienated :(

  • +1

Msy is charging credit card fee for pick up, I guess. As credit card is the only payment method for online or delivery order, does anyone know if they also charge 2% fee too?

    • they accept paypal on delivery orders. WA shipping is 10.91 + 1.32 handling fee

  • Its showing up as $55??

Can anyone help get the deal Mitcham?

This is what i get: http://www.msy.com.au/vic/mitcham/peripherals/4031-sandisk-e…

Edit: Oh right. Just realised it's Friday morning, not night. Probably haven't updated it yet.

  • Anyone have anything to say about the powerline performance? I know its super important which version of powerline you get, but not overly researched in the area

  • Great deal. Gonna get 3 of these. I hope they don't run out of stock.

  • +2

Anyone ordered a sandisk yet? Still showing at $55

    • Yeah I'm ready to buy a few of them but still showing as $55 for me as well.

    • +6

18 years in the IT industry and couldn't get the online promotion timing right :D

    • +1

They're up at $33 now. Bought the two I could.

  • still waiting!

  • Still waiting, what time do they open the shop?

    • My nearest one is 10:30am.

  • When they are saying weekend, they probably saying starting tomorrow, rather than today.

    • +1

It does say on the flyer - available online and in-store from Friday 21/8.

      • It's true that it is said in the flyer. They can be wrong when they put in the dates. For me, weekend means Saturday and Sunday.

  • Yeah I was clicking at midnight but nothing.. still waiting..

  • Ordered 1

Hurry up, guys, price is now updated

  • Available Now!!!! No option to pickup at store? Had to pay postage! Oh Well

  • I ordered for pick up from Cannington, WA. It's available.

  • can you opt for in store pickup? cant see it anywhere

    • +1

Have to choose Online and pick up button on their main homepage first.

      • Weel, choose your store first then a pop up window will ask you for delivery or pick up.

      • Legend, worked.

  • PLE and HN have stock if anyone wants to try a Pricematch

    http://www.harveynorman.com.au/sandisk-extreme-64gb-usb-3-0-…

    • do HN do price matches?
Do they beat the price like OW or just match?
Pity OW don't stock it in store. That would be too convenient.

    • In my experience PLE won't match/beat MSY promotion price.

  • woohoo ordered 2

  • Thanks Op. Ordered 1

  • +2

ordered 2, pricematched at officeworks. cheers OP!

    • How much you pay + postage ?

      • +1

nah, i did pick-up in-store (at officeworks), so they matched the instore price of $33. worked out to be $31.35 each.

  • Ordered 2. Thanks OP! Was going to buy the 32G version for literally the same price…

  • out of stock cannington

We can do back order for this Sandisk Extreme 64GB USB

      • +1!

  • managing to resist as I have two already! argh!

  • Sandisk Extreme is out of stock at Ultimo NSW, even though it says in stock on the website.

    • +1

We can do back order for this Sandisk Extreme 64GB USB

      • +1

But how? I went to the actual store and they said it's out of stock without saying that they can do back order. I then went online hoping that I can reserve them online and pick them up in store but then I get this after making the order:

        "Dear customer,

Sorry, the pen drive on special is sold out at Ultimo shop.

        Best Regard"

And the order has been "finalised" (which I assumed is cancelled), so where can I do a back order?

        • They have many instock in their warehouse. Just leave your contact details and ask them to fill-in the back-order form for you @ $33.

We will fulfill all orders next Monday

        • @hung861988: Received an email saying it has been put on back-order. So everything's good.

      • Please refer to OrbDaggerZ & zn7726 comment about being unable to click/add to cart issue.

  • Sandisk Extreme out of stock gold coast. Gave me a raincheck.

    • Store rep said they can do back order for this usb drive.

  • +2

Just called Officeworks to get a pricematch on a local store, which doesn't have stock but can be ordered online apparently (MSY Balcatta only has one left when I ordered two).
They gave some excuse that as they don't have any in warehouse stock that they can't match the price, but they might be getting more stock in 2 to 10 days time and to call back then.
They've no doubt been told about this price and don't want to compete on it.

    • thanks for saving me the trouble

    • +1

      Officejerks

  • +2

Why can't order now? the Add to chart button doesn't work (not clickable).

    • Same issue here, even with ghost & adblock off/disabled and refreshed page on FFox.
Same with Opera, as Vic online & Vic Clayton & Mitcham.
      Logged in or not.
The 16gb can be added ok, just 64gb.

      All stock gone/deal over???

      Anyone else having this issue?

      • +1

Having the same issue for all VIC Options

  • Nice USB drive, hoovering around 98mb/sec, transferred mkv file size of 4.4gb under 45sec.

  • +9

    Hi guys,

There are some technical issues with the website at the moment and it is preventing customers adding the Sandisk Extreme USB3.0 into cart. If you come to branches and they do not have stock for you, just leave your contact details and our team will organize back-order for you @ $33. We will fulfill all back-order next Monday.

@5:26PM: All VIC, QLD and SA branches should have plenty of stock (more than 50+ each
branch). NSW and WA all sold out but we can do back-order at special price.

    Thank you.

Dear Mod, is it possible to update the post to reflect the change. Thank you

    • Hi rep, fyi QLD Varsity Lakes had none as of 2pm-ish today (i don't know if you comment implies they received stock this afternoon). They did back order one for me.

      • +1

Yep. They just received a new shipment this afternoon

    • +1

Just updated the post, thanks, Rep.

    • How about ACT rep? do they have stock?

      • All sold out

  • Something wrong with the website. Can't add online.

  • +1

Since adding to cart is still buggered, has anyone being able to price match with Vermont South Officeworks?

I just prefer to not end up going all the way to the Clayton store and them telling me that it cant be back ordered at the same price, like what happen with the mSD deal they had in the past.

The issue should have been fixed by now.

  • +2

I tried to price match with Officeworks but they told me that they don't price match MSY "because they're a grey seller."

Then I tried to price match with Harvey Norman and their response was "Unfortunately we dont price match with MSY, as they dont offer manufacturers warranty but rather a base 12 month warranty on their products, therefore they classify as a re-seller which is an exclusion to our Price Match Guarantee. Sorry about that."

    • +4

I think you should go back and tell Officeworks msy only buys off Australian Suppliers like Synnex, ALtech, Rectron and Ingram micro and maybe tell Harvey Norman MSY DOES OFFER MANUFACTURES WARRANTY stupid shops who wont price match is stupid

Hmm I really need a USB 3.0 drive to run my Portable linux OS (to have on my key ring). But these drives are too big. Any suggestions on more compact drives?

    • Anything wrong with this (would it be slower)?

      http://www.shoppingsquare.com.au/p_413537_SanDisk_64GB_CZ43_…

Is a tiny/compact version of the above (it seems) at a $4 extra delivered… Good deal?

      • +2

PC Gamer rated the sandisk extreme as the best usb stick overall, and the sandisk ultra fit as the best low profile drive.
        http://www.pcgamer.com/the-best-usb-flash-drives/

I bought an 128gb ultra fit in the amazon deal, but haven't received it yet. Will use that as a portable drive, and the extreme as OS/steam drive. The ultra fit will be slower as an OS drive, but I'm sure it will be more than enough for light usage (I use a slow crappy usb 2.0 drive as my Linux OS drive currently!).

But yes, the ultra fit will be significantly slower. That's the tradeoff for the size. Check the benchmarks on the link someone posted above.

        • Thanks for that.

          You're quite correct.

Looking at the comparison- the non-ultra is 109% faster (particularly with write at 86.8mb/s vs 188mb/s).

Just curious as to how much (if any) I'll notice it for a portable OS?

  • +1

I bought one for $65 a few days ago from PLE :-( I'm so satisfied with it though I backordered a couple from this special.

I just want to know how they managed to cut the price by half.
