  • Good price (previous model though)

  • Ordered an ipad off these guys yesterday.
Been shipped today and already received shipping info and tax invoice. Impressed so far.

  • Can anyone tell me if the i3 will have enough grunt to easily run W10 + media server (Plex/Emby) + player (Kodi) + TV Pvr (NextPvr) ie. a fully fledged W10 HTPC/Media server

    • I have the Celerion version and it ran plex with multiple streams as well as other services which was allright except for HD Movies. So the i3 Should be powerful enough to handle it.

      • OK thanks. I currently have i3-2100 system which runs pretty well, but has a higher clock speed (2.5GHz) and dedicated GPU so was wondering if the NUC would be a suitable replacement

    • i have 3 first gen i3 nuc, and i run win7/8.1 plex with it, my mate got celerone version runs xbmc on it, both run fine with bluray rips( file sizes like 10gb-30gb etc)

  • the nuc's uses notebook memory right? from the other nuc offers I think they were low voltage memory as well so we we will have to get specific ones. But what is the benefit of getting 2 memory modules? Besides speed, anything else? I was looking at a hackintosh build and they said that the software will require 2 memory modules and won't work with just 1 piece.

Obvisouly looking for a Kit with pieces is better than buying 2 single pieces. Last modules I bought, both Kingston Value Ram from different supplier were slightly different, first was a product of USA and the 2nd was product of china. It was for a general use pc so we are not taxing the memory to see if it flakes out or not.

  • You need to get a coupon from eBay now TA… eArse…

  • +1

NB, the compute stick can be had for cheaper if you don't want Windows 8.1, and are happy with Linux.

  • I started specing one of these up as a Plex server last night and this sealed the deal, purchased! thanks heaps.

Any good deals on RAM or 2TB 2.5" disks for it going today?

I was going to look for these:
Western Digital WD Green 2TB Internal 2.5-inch Mobile Hard Drive, SATA 6Gb/s WD20NPVX
    Kingston SSDNow mS100 mSATA 32GB SATAII SMS100S2/32G
    G.Skill 8GB (8GBx1) DDR3L-1866 (PC3L-14900) CL10-10-10-32 1.35 Volt F3-1866C10S-8GRSL

  • Can I install Windows 7, cheers

  • Can anyone tell me if this RAM stick from their listing will go with the i3 version?

    Thanks

    • Should do, I pretty sure it's on the NUC memory compatibility list. The L means low volatge (1.35v) which is what you need. the 1600MHz is the right speed and it's a SO-DIMM format.
