I've been trying to negotiate a good deal with eGlobal on popular handsets. This is the best they've come up with so far.

Apparently this is limited to the first 280 orders only so if you see something at a good price don't wait.

Amazing phone for the ~$500 price point

The flex is def worth it, i picked one up in the ebay sale and its very a impressive phone, total bargain in that price range. (Basically flagship type specs at mid range prices)

is it missing the 700 bandwidth (28 i think)? I have read that it is.

      Cheers.

thats correct No 700 (28), but works on the other 4g bands fine, i got it for my wife so if it can get on whatsapp and facebook she's happy… but while setting it up i was impressed. It was painful as i had gotten the m9 in the same deal for myself (mainly because i really like HTC interface and build) and this phone was just as good for every day use with better battery life… grrrr …

        • does not having that bandwidth limit it going forward as some of the older bandwidths are stopped etc?

        • @mrmagoober: honestly i cant see how or why they would shutdown 4g bandwidths just to run on 700 .. makes no sense to me but there are articles about optus and telstra wanting to move users to it, the main reasons im not 100% sure on.

        • @scud70: Thanks for the information. I was reasonably sure the phone would be good, just not sure about the bandwidth limitation. I suppose what are the chances of it happening in the next 2 years….

        • @mrmagoober: not just that, you have to compare it to the phones in the same price range.. most will have similar limitation with 4g .. unless you look at ChinaDroid phones or that type… and from what i've see most of those def aren't made for Aus 4G … if you want a flagship phone id stick with the Sammy, HTC's and the G4 in this post.. if your wanting a midrange phone and arent fussed about the 4g limitation down the line this is a great option.. just my Opinion..

        • @scud70:

It might be a problem if you live somewhere regional or travel lots and with optus. I believe they only use the band 28 where I live. Pretty much band 28 is awesome because its lower mhz, which means longer and stronger signal. There's plenty of places where you cant pick up the 1800. At home i used to be lucky to pick up 4g, now with band 28 i get 3 or more bars.

also today it was updated to 5.1.1 so there not slow with updates either… :)

        • Better than my note 4.

  • worth spending an extra $200 for the g4 over a flex? have been wanting to get the g4, but the flex price is amazing for a 5.5" screen etc..

    • +1

G4 have better camera, higher resolution screen and removable battery, but is it $200 better?

      • thx. yeah dont care about the battery, other 2 are good to have, but dont think its worth $200 to get them!!

  • topbuy.com.au have the H815T (not H815) model for $557.95, but with $28.60 postage. There's a coupon code for $10 off, just wondering if anyone could tell me if it's worth getting the H815T model if I'm using Vodafone or Telstra?
Also, has anyone purchased from TopBuy before?

    • +1

In case anyone was wondering the same thing, after some research I found the difference.
The H815 includes the LTE1900 (B2) frequency, which isn't used by any Australian carrier.
The H815T includes the TD-LTE2300 (B40) frequency, which is used for part of the Optus 4G network.
So if you use Optus, it might be worth getting the 'T' variant.

I ordered a slr lens a few years ago. I had no issues.

  • Does anyone know if LG in Australia (or their distributor) will honour the warranty on 'phones privately imported from Hong Kong?

    • +1

Doesn't look like it unfortunately :(
LG Warranty page: "This LG manufacturer's warranty only applies to service within Australia (for mobile phones purchased within Australia only) "

        Thank you.

This would have to be taken into account when calculating any savings.

Sooooo tempted after seeing how good my friend's older LG G3 is. The camera and screen is pretty amazing. And the LG android experience i feel is leaner then Samsung's touchwiz.
