FIFA 16? Is It Worth Upgrading from FIFA 15?

Want a view on this year coming Fifa 16.

Is it worth upgrading your Fifa Library if you already own Fifa 15 ?

I would do if you own only Fifa 14

but seriously how much difference in game feel between 15 and 16.

I know there is now Girls Team in Fifa 16 but does it make any difference in playing or game feel ?

Worthy upgrade would be PES2016. That's a real UPGRADE.

    Defiantly *Definitely.

I guess it all depends on what style of game you play. If you're playing Fifa Ultimate Team, you'd upgrade. For everything else, just wait a year until it's $35.

    • I haven't tried playing FUT yet but own Fifa 15 from last 6 months.

How long do you have to wait before FIFA drops in price?

    • -1

Im the opposite, I'm an NRL fan and not the least bit interested in playing it in RL, but on PS4 its about the only sports game I enjoy playing with my mates

  • +1

if you're an Arsenal fan, then no lol..and I'm one of them :(

    • +1

Is signing a Cech not enough for you?

      • +1

Should be for real fans, yes. COYG.

        • Don't flatter yourself with real fans or not..

Every arsenal fan like Cech, but I'm sure most will agree not signing any outfield player is a very risky move.

Wenger is betting all in on us not having any lengthy injuries before Jan, but knowing our history with injuries, I'm not so sure it's a smart move.

        • @Droid11: I don't see any other team doing any better having signed outfield players unless your a City fan.

        • +3

@Droid11: Who should he have bought? Henry said he tried to sign Cavani and Benz, neither wanted to come to Arsenal. There aren't any better strikers available than we have. Look at Utd buying Martial! He scored 11 goals last season in France and has never had a cap. 36m pounds plus add ons if he achieves anything taking it up to past 50m. I know there's more to it than money but we also can't buy just to amuse fans as the club is not an oil or sugar daddy owned club. I'm proud of how the club is ran, supported them since I was 4 and lived eight miles from Highbury.

        • @Where's_That_Cake: and Cech saved you guys against Liverpool.

        • @varunsic: nah, the assistant referee saved Liverpool in that game lol. Why on earth they called that offside I'll never know.

        • @Where's_That_Cake: lol. You guys had one goal wrongly ruled offside but Cech was world class.

And i am a die hard Liverpool fan.

Just like Brendan said…i didn't watch the replay…hahaha

        • @Where's_That_Cake: Quality post cake. I 100% agree. Brentford fc fan here.

I'll be buying the new FIFA, and have bought each one since 2005. I don't play a wide range of games, but a few series are must buys for me and FIFA is definitely one of them.

I enjoy the different 'feel' each game has, and like the learning curve to get good at each one.

Each to their own I guess. Some say it's a stupid idea to get every iteration but seeing as I easily get hundreds of hours out of each one the cost is justifiable for me.

  • Will be getting the new FIFA. About time they altered the career mode to include proper pre-seasons

  • I usually but each second version. I bought the 14 so going to buy 16. I don't play that much though.

  • +3

I'll probably buy just for the latest gameplay but also to ensure I get a good number of online opponents

It's the one game I play all year so definitely get a return on the spend

Playing level 4 on FIFA 15 but can't get much higher!!!

  • Get whichever one all your friends will be playing on

  • +3

Upgrade your game, go outside and play some real football.

    • +1

With that money you can buy yourself a nice pair of boots instead of the same game every year

  • Only reason I would upgrade these games is for online gaming. When people switch to the new game, there wont be many left to play with you. Usually take 2 years fir everyone to leave the online arena

  • If you're on Xbox One, get yourself EA Access and wait for it to come into the vault, and enjoy all of the other games included in the package too :). You can even play a 10 hour demo of it and get a 10% discount on it if you're really desperate to buy it after that.

  • Another vote for PES 16. Last year I bought FIFA 15 and PES 15, compared both, chucked fifa on ebay. There is no comparison in how much more real PES feels.

PES 16 has improved one of the only problems with 15, which is off-ball play, now it is aces. The only other problems are crappy goal keepers and commentary not as good as fifa. But seriously, PES is the way to go for game play mechanics, character models, animation, etc and it's not a close call.

  • It has women so, yes.

I'm bemused by people who said PES is better. Do they play the game online? It does not work. Last year i got PES instead of FIFA because the reviews were good. Yet another game where the reviewers are useless because they don't test the game online. Totally broken and pointless. Straight to ebay it went.

  • I will buy the new version, simply for the online experience.

Can anyone find any deals on FIFA 16 on PS4?
Last year, Harvey Norman and Dick Smith both offered deals on FIFA 15. Managed to score FIFA 15 on PS4 as a pre-order in July for $55 delivered.

Can't really find anything close to that price this year round - $79 from JB is the best I can come up with.

  • so the vote is still 50 - 50. mixed reviews.

  • If you play online then yes, the upgrade is well worth the price. I went straight to online didn't even touch single player once. On PC I put in over 350 hours playing only seasons casually since release. Its good fun meeting regular online opponents throughout the course of 1 year.. meeting them in different divisions, seeing if they've improved etc. Met a decent amount of people to play friendlies as well, just give them an add on origin after a game, people are always willing to play!

Also, the game mechanics/feel is changed each year. So its fun to sort of relearn the game each year as others have mentioned already.

  • I think yes.

Go and get a Coles Mastercard first and buy it on that on the day it comes out.
Then in 23.99 months when it's at $20, you can claim the $50+ price difference on your card with Price Protection ;)

edit: This can apply to either FIFA or PES!

it was a big jump for me from pes 2013 with PS3 to fifa 15 with PS4. everything was different, and I hate playing FIfa because you can't use the right stick to move the players like PES.
Now that I get used to fifa 15 I still think i will go back to Pes 2016 rather than Fifa 16. It is more like freedom to control players and perform tricks with Pes.

  • nvm

  • Seems most of the guys thinking of either moving to PES2016 or keep holding on Fifa15 rather upgrading to FIfa16.

    • Why don't you try the demo?

      • I did try the demo for PES 2016. felt good and different in play then Fifa 15. I will hold on till the prices come down a bit ( budget issue at the min)

  • PES 2016 hands down no camparison.
FIFA is not a representation of real football.
I played PES and it blew my dick off!
FINALLY I am making the switch.

I'm not giving my money to PES because it has come to light that the PC Port has been ported from the 360/PS3 version.

I'd be very careful in purchasing PES.

    • -1

so you mean .. buy PES for New Gen Console (XB1/PS4) but not for PC right ?

      • Sure, if you'd prefer it over FIFA by all means, but I'm not going to give my money to someone who can't do a decent product, who know's what other problems might pop up in the next few weeks.

I'm probably going to give FIFA/PES a miss this year, I have 15 to tide me over.
