spring15

Previous deal expired?

Use spring15 for the next week to get yourself 10% off Travel Insurance.

Starts today (08/09/15) and ends in one week (15/09/15)

Flight dates do not matter as long as you book and pay for the insurance while the offer is valid. Eg. I've tested it against going to Japan April 2016 and discount works.

  • I'm sure they've put up their prices… my quote today came in at 10% more than last time I checked. $120 for 2 weeks in Japan is pretty expensive compared to some of the others.

    • I guess people should always compare with other providers before committing.

      Update:
      I paid $166, 3 weeks in Japan, Apr-May 2015 (2 ppl)
      New quote $169, 3 weeks in Japan, Apr-May 2016 (2 ppl)

So not much different, perhaps the dates selected make a difference?

      • TID quoting me $209 for 2 ppl to Japan for 3 weeks in October.

        • Greater benefit to be had by booking in advance, rather than next month perhaps?

Edit: I should also mention that my quotes and costs are with No Extras, no excess reduction, no extra things insured, no increase for car hire, no skiiing, no extreme sports etc etc we don't need any of those things.

Edit2: also age makes a big difference I just changed my quote to 80 yo + 70 yo and got: $731 omg

  • I've always used TID in the past but they seem expensive now. Can anyone recommend another company worth checking?

    • For reference, we've used TID for a while. Always got the same cover - here's price history (excluding 10% discount when we could get it):
Couple - Worldwide Annual Multi Trip ($0 excess)
      2015/16 $444.00 (LLoyd's)
      2014/15 $464.00 (LLoyd's)
      2012/13 $415.00 (LLoyd's)
      2010/11 $379.00 (Allianz)

    • Insureandgo is much cheaper, but doesn't cover natural disasters. Still have a 20% discount offer running to 31 Dec 15 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/193758

  • I just paid $81 for 10 days in the USA with TID, so I am happy. Next best was Allianz for $136.

  • Very disappointed with recent experience with TID. Their option to reduce excess to $0 now costs more than the $100 excess. Plus, recent claim whereby I actually made extraordinary effort to reduce the financial impost on them paying claim was denied! I was caught in bad weather and rather than making every effort to make it in time for my return flight, turns out I should have just stayed two more nights in the mountain accommodation as they would have paid then. What the?

    • Their option to reduce excess to $0 now costs more than the $100 excess.

Not for me. I just tried making a booking. Still $25, as it has been for years.

      • bummer, I took out an annual multi-trip policy in august and in previous years it was only $25 but this year more than $100.

        • Oh, maybe because it was an annual policy. It was $25 for the single trip. I've never bought annual before, so I'm unsure there.

  • found that 1Cover has the same prices even after TID's discount. And you also get a $20 giftcard for a referral. worldcare is cheaper and ranked higher (according to product review) than both and has $0 excess.

  • Unexpired as this has been extended for 3 days, today through to Weds 30th Sept.
