  • Anyone got the Sony BT headphones? Some reviews say they fall off when doing bench press/crunches ect at the gym but otherwise look good.

    • You need sports or action headphones If you going to work out :)

    • I bought these exact headphones 2 weeks ago, X950 Bluetooth or something, while in Japan (for about $130aud)

They do not have very much clamping force, rather they just sit on your head. Even lying in bed with them on, I can feel them pulling down towards the pillow. Standing/sitting they are great.

  • Hmm the sony headphones is very tempting

Thnking to buy or not to buy ue roll

    • my mind keeps going "should i wait for the one in reef colour" -___-
      edit: 7.95 postage no deal

  • Sony headset out of stock

    • Headphones sold out is more likely because Dick Smith is monitoring OZbargain! Happened last time when they had a good sale online, as soon as it was posted here DS website showed the item is out of stock.

      • So you're saying Dick Smith have good sales, but they don't want people to be able to buy the items they put on sale?

        • I believe so, they want to bring the customer in to buy more stuff not only the good sales items

        • @lovebargain87: You don't think it's possible that once a good deal is posted on OzBargain, we would buy it, making it out of stock?

        • @eug: yes I agree it could be, but it happened a lot of times already. For example there was this good GPS deal on their website for click and collect option. Someone posted here and the item was out of stock nation wide after that. Then when the price was back to normal, the GPS was available again and this was only a day or two apart.

Boom in that sale was only $10 more and as far as I can tell is much better.

      • Roll is completely waterproof (IPX7), but yeh the Boom does seem better overall.

  • Headphones sold out

    • Headphones sold out is more likely because Dick Smith is monitoring OZbargain!

      • I think they were limited since there was no click & collect available :)

        • I am not too sure TRENT86. It happened too many times in my experience

@lovebargain87: Oh yeah trust me it's happened to me bulk times, if they make the UE Out of stock then we would know for sure :)

Headphones out of stock. Dick does it again

  • Really wanted those headphones, but looks like they got rid of the page all together instead of the previous 'temporarily out of stock' message.

  • They are great headphones, I've had them all year and they're great to listen to. Not too big and bulky. Not really built for working out though. I didn't realise how great bluetooth headphones could be till I got them. +1

  • Damn you OZB!!!

    I didn't realise I wanted these headphones until now…!!!!

Damn those Uniden Walkie Talkies are a bargain. Wouldn't pay the usual $70 or so but $29.50 is a steal.

  • Still stock on those Uniden UHF 2pk. Get them now for $29.50, if you miss out you can always get them at David Jones for $130. What a jokes. http://shop.davidjones.com.au/djs/ProductDisplay?catalogId=1…

    • They're $31 now. Still a good deal.

  • plan to buy the headphone at home from work, then op posted the deal… some luck…

  • Anyone have any postage codes? Every damn store convenient for me has no stock.

  • Don't feel too bad about the Sony Headphones. I was keen on them too then I had a look over at wirecutter and got this review from them.

Sony MDR-XB950BT: Nobody on the panel liked these. The bass is boomy, messy, and leaves every kind of music sounding, as Brent put it, “as though there is a quilt draped over a speaker.” Even on hip-hop, which headphones marketed as Extra Bass should excel in, everyone agreed that the 950BT were an absolute mess. There are many better options out there, and none of us know how Sony could have dropped the ball so terribly or why there are so many good Amazon reviews. The only positive comment our panel made was “well, they’re comfy on your head…” -The Wirecutter: Read full article: The Best Bluetooth On- or Over-Ear Headphones

I'd be reading actual buyers of the product from Amazon to get a real idea how good they are, never believe what a reviewer site says

      • My worry about Amazon reviews is that many people have may only have a limited frame of reference. I remember my Shure E5s were fantastic when I got them! I would have written great reviews about them.

Then later on I tried a better model and realised the E5s were just OK.

        • I trust sites like Amazon USA/UK Bestbuy over review sites every time- Cnet is the worst!. But that's the case with any electronic, there will always be something better out there when they pump better products out every few months lol

          @TRENT86:

Went to some audiophile forums for some more critical reviews.
I don't trust the regular consumer when it comes to audio, especially those who use EQ settings that distort the hell out of the music, because they want dat bass…

I can now confirm from the forums that yes these are muddy to begin with, however after about 150hrs of burn in there's a dramatic difference in sound quality, the bass is not so boomy and the mids and highs become more apparent and balanced. They get the thumbs up for a wireless set at this price.

So the review i quoted would have been accurate, but had they done a burn in they would have probably come to a different conclusion. Wirecutter is usually pretty good, and they take into account the amazon reviews (as included in the quote).
