Sony Smartwatch 3 and Xperiz Z3 mic issue?

Hi everybody! (Dr Nic voice)

I recently purchased the Smartwatch 3 which is connected to my Xperia Z3. The watch and phone works fine, however everytime I receive a phonecall, no one can hear me at all. I can hear them fine, but for some reason it's like the mic is either disabled or the watch is forcing the phone mic to disable?

I don't really understand why this is happening suddenly. I know the watch is causing the issue because once it's disconnected from the phone, then phonecalls are fine again.

Is there a setting I did wrong somewhere? I've been through the whole watch and phone setting and nothing to show why this could be happening.

This is on top of the now known Sony Lollipop update where you don't receive any notifications when you're screen is locked… Once you unlock the phone you suddenly get flooded with messages, whatsapp etc.

I love my Z3 but have to say, there are a lot of bugs they choose to ignore.

  • When you receive a call, try picking up with the phone and then selecting in the quick menu to use bluetooth headset audio.

    • By selecting that, doesn't it mean I'm using the watch as the mic?

      Maybe I'm confusing myself now.

      • no one can hear me at all.

        Isn't that what you want?

        • No, I want to use the phone for normal phone calls.

What I'm saying is the watch somehow disabled the mic whenever I receive a call.

        • @ozeebee:

Yeah so then use the same menu to switch to phone only.

          Just tried your suggestion.

There is no option to choose the phone for mic input. Its only mute, loudspeaker/earpiece.

          This is where I'm stuck.

  • Just to clarify, when the smartwatch is switched on the person I'm talking to can't hear me.

When I switch it off, then phonecalls are all ok again.

There's no option on the phone or watch that I can see where the mic input is affected.
