Malaysia Airlines Sale (Melbourne to Kuala Lumpur) $569 including all pre-payable taxes

180

Here's another flight deal from Melbourne <-> KL (Malaysia)

It's slightly cheaper than the Emirates sale that I posted earlier, with the advantage of being MAS ("easier" to deal with connecting MAS flights at KLIA).

  • Is it for a return flight?

Save $5 ($563.94 fare) by cutting out the middle man and book directly with Malaysia Airlines at http://www.malaysiaairlines.com/au/en/home.aspx

Thumbs up also for Malaysian's more convenient departure/arrival time (compared with Emirate's ungodly hours - still good deal though)

  • OMG … I wish I didn't get those Air Asia flights for my trip in September. Boohoo sob sob!

  • Damn, why is sydney always missing out on these cheap deals!

    • +1

Not for much longer…according to this industry newsletter Air asia set to fly Syd to KL by 1 July, sweet :D

      • it doesnt say to KL but I would say that would be correct.
+1 for the comment (i would give you more if I could!!). AWESOME NEWS finally for sydneysiders wanting to travel to Asia.

        • And if history repeats (fingers crossed), launch fares will be $99 one way to KL (inc tax) as they were when they started flying from Melbourne/Perth/Gold Coast.

Will be keeping a close on this one :)

        • Seeing as KL is their hub of operations, and pretty much every flight goes through there, it'd be hugely surprising if there wasn't a SYD - KUL route.

          • @zzyss: it would most likely go to the lcc terminal aprox 20km from the main terminal

            • @Trance N Dance: All AirAsia flights operate from LCCT.

            • @Trance N Dance: Actually the terminal isn't that far as the crow flies, its just over the other side of the runway :-(

              • @muzzamo: Yeah, but try to fly like a crow and they will shoot you down. Crows are pests in KL.

The shuttle is much safer. :)

          • @zzyss: not always, air asia has direct flight from perth to bali.

  • I heard that there is a stopover in Jakarta… very strange.

    • Where did you hear that? I doubt it. MH's hub is KL, why would they stopover in Jakarta. If anything they would encourage people to transit to a Jakarta flight from KLIA.

      • The 1.10 am departure from Melbourne on Wed, Fri and Sun goes via Jakarta.
The afternoon flight (3.40 pm departure) from Melbourne goes non-stop to Kuala Lumpur.

        • oh drat! What about the return flight? There are also afternoon and evening flights coming back from KL.
