    • thanks. just updated. hopefully it works now.

  • Damn, I got refunded on the last luggage deal, only just missing out.
Seems like the larger hardcases are sold out now

  • Thanks OP

I have been looking for a decent carry-on.

The Shanghai looks pretty well priced.

  • WTF i have been looking for weeks for good deals on luggage. Finally bite the bullet and buy some (from COTD mind you, with 20% discount) and this deal pops up, and so does the Cudo deal for Qantas luggage

    • oh man that sucks. HATE it when that happens. We JUST got some luggage from COTD as well, that style is not in this sale so its ok but still…

    • If you just bought it with COTD you can cancel your order as long as its not been processed yet.

    • Where have u been, Myer has had up to 80% off luggage on and off for months :)

      • I'm looking for bargains - myer is usually one of the last places I bother to check

    • Oh man I had that Cudo deal in my cart.. and went to lunch. Came back to my desk.. sold out!
      The agony… !!!!!!!

  • which brand would you guys recommend, trying to figure out before it's sold out

looking for the larger >70cm suit cases
    cheers

edit: looking at the American Tourister brand :P

    • +1

American Tourister or Antler is good. I had very bad experiences with Tosca- would not recommend.

    • +1

IMO? Go to strandbags! Much cheaper and I have not had an issue.

  • Have just noticed that NRMA members get similar deals all the time on Luggage on the NRMA website

  • D'oh… missed out on AMERICAN TOURISTER HS MV+ Hard Spinner Case Medium 69cm!
I've been looking around for that one but excellent finding OP! Thanks

Email them to get 10% off from Myer price for Vivolite Large 75cm. Claims to be the lightest AT

      • AT?

        • American Tourisiter

from bagworld :We are happy to offer you the American Tourister Vivolite 75cm Suitcase 54565 for $122.54, this price includes free delivery.

          Thank you @greatwhitehunter

        • @CheapyAus:

How long does bagworld reply your email?

        • @CheapyAus:

          Nice one Cheapy.

I got 2 x Qantas Shanghai 56cm carryons for less than $120 including delivery from Bagworld using the same price match deal.

          They are good.

        • @CheapyAus:

how long did it take them to reply to you? I've been waiting for ages for a response.

        • @johnthepg:
Sent them email last night, got the reply by 5:21pm today.

          quote:

Unfortunately we have sold out of all American Tourister Vivolite stock, and as it is a discontinued range we are unable to source more.
          ?
Should any of the other suitcases we have on our website be of interest you are welcome to use the OZ coupon code, which will entitle you to an extra 10% discount.

      • So emailed Bagworld last night and got a "speedy" reply at 4pm explaining that they conveniently "Unfortunately we have sold out of all American Tourister Vivolite stock, and as it is a discontinued range we are unable to source more"

    • I dont think they price match with out of stock items?

      • The purple one is still in stock

    • +2

Thanks! Managed to get one price matched. The code they give you actually works on any item in their store.. So I guess technically you could get a discount on anything after you email them. ;)

      • That's good to know!

    • Thank you. Got 1 price matched. Very happy.

I bought the Qantas Spectre a while ago, it's made by Antler

    • wish you mentioned it earlier… I would have bought it, if I knew, over the Antler branded one. :) But good to know.

Myer don't seem to have the 75cm though, but the 75 is quite a bit heavier.

    • What are your thoughts on the Spectre?

      • +2

Only compared it to others in store and it seemed on par with most other hard cases, wheels smoothly. The extendable handle thing wasn't the best but most other cases were similar. ABS part is actually shiny and looks better in person. The only "problem" is it's a little heavy, I got the 56cm version that's 2.7KG, some soft cases are almost 1KG lighter.

  • Great deal. Bought an Antler suitcase on boxing day sale and absolutely love it.

  • 2-3 kg for a carry on seems heaps when Jetstar only gives you 7kg… I just use a duffle bag which weighs less than 1kg.

  • +1

Is American Tourister any good? They spend a lot of advertising but yet to know anyone that has bought one. Any recommendations from OZB on their range?

    • +1

I was under the impression they are Samsonite

      • Owned by samsonite but not quite the same. AT is the budget division so quality wont be the same for finer trimmings. Its still good value for money since you are paying as much for branding!

        • Same same but different really what I would say is that it's more about market saturation. If the lower segment was still very high quality and American Tourister couldn't complete without providing huality products similar to their Samsonite range they would be forced to provide it

    • I had the AMERICAN TOURISTER Vivolite 75cm from the last Myer deal and it survived from few oversea trips. Will purchase another one for parents.

  • bugger - missed out again on Tosca Easyrider Spinnercase Small 48cm Black :( - anyone have tips for domestic hand luggage 56 x 36 x 23?

      • If you add them to cart they don't add.

Those cases look great however they are 2cm to big in height and width they need to be 56x36x23cm to meet Qantas and Jetstar pity as I like those cases!

        • +1

They might have a few of the Tosca Easyrider Small Cases in stock again, I just purchased one for delivery 2 minutes ago (Click and Collect not available in SA).

        • It's adding for me (with the link I provided).

These bags are for that category - says here they're approved - https://www.bagworld.com.au/shop/detail/american-tourister-v… (check the bottom).

        • @Levi: it does! perhaps the myer dimensions include the wheels? the dimensions are different

        • You know I've never been pulled up for my slightly large bag on Qantas or Jetstar ever.

        • @serpserpserp:

Good to know. I thought it was pretty clear that 1cm here or there would be fine and these bags were made exactly for this purpose. Thanks mate.

        • @Levi:

When I say slightly larger I mean CM's bigger probably on all three axis's. In fact I've never seen anyone get kicked off a flight for baggage. I've seen staff give them very stern warnings about it, but never go through with it. Once one person had to reduce the size of their massive duffel carry-on, that was funny watching him wear about 4 jumpers/coats and then hassle his travelling companion to stuff a bunch of stuff in her bags :).

  • I bought the Antler Nimbus 3pc set from COTD throught their app + 20% off when it was $279 under club catch (blue colour) for $218 delivered. I must say it is a much better option to get a spinner case if u are travelling with kids etc as its much easy to manage with a stroller at the airport. Also the price was way too good considering they are hybrid (mix of soft and hard case) and extremely light weight than the spectre or AT.

    • Ordered Friday and will be delivered tomorrow…

  • No good experience with Tosca? Just bought 2 , it starts worrying me now :(

    • You can return if you're not happy with it. But a bit troublesome as you have to bring it back to a Myer.

  • Are these full price in store?

    • +1

I didn't see any sale tags in store, so probably full price

  • Thanks OP, grabbed two suitcases for our trip :)

  • +1

Thanks OP sure wish I had read all the comment before purchasing… missed out on the 10% from bagworld. OH well, I am happy with the price Myers had. I ordered the American Tourister Vivolite Hardside Spinner Case Large 75cm Purple. The video at Bagworld looks very impressive for this piece.

    • Good choice!

    • @My Possum: Can't you cancel the MYER order and buy from Bagworld?
      http://www.myer.com.au/p/customer-service/returns-policy/

    • I went to Myer to see the quality of Vivolite but doesn't seem as good as Antler or Samsonite. so Ordered Samsonite Cosmolite with the 30% discount code I got from bagworld during my price match for Vivolite. The code works for everything at bagworld online so it was a good buy.

  • Bagworld has now sold out of the American Tourister Vivolite bags, but they have given me the OZ coupon code to get an extra 10% off any purchase with them. :)

    • +1

What is the 10% off code

  • Until this day I still don't get it why ppl spend almost thousand on luggage before they even travel, worrying it might break or save maybe 2kg? I'd rather spend on something reasonably well built and cheap, and let travel insurance worry about the rest. I don't know if you guys know this. I tried to open the zip on a 500+ American tourister vs some $100+ Victoria station with a pen. Both open just as easy without breaking the lock.. Go figure

    • Samsonite Cosmolite Zip System is different as it has a cover so pen won't get through… but you pay 3 times more for R&D I guess..

    • What will you do when your zip breaks en-route to a hotel?
      Or your wheel bearings seize?
      Or a handle breaks?

This is my main concern buying a $99 kogan 3piece vs something built a bit more sturdier..

      • I've used duct tape on many a cheap suitcase.
Handles breaking are the worst. At least you can just drag the thing if a wheel breaks.

        • Haha. yeah.

I dragged one (luggage) in Japan. Not a good experience.

  • have been eyeing for a Samsonite for while. missed this - http://www.myer.com.au/shop/mystore/samsonite-201659770-2016…
could have been a very good deal! :(

  • +1

Lots more bags added… even large ones…

    • Not a great setup on their site, I filtered by Size = Large and got only 2 choices, both hard shell. Seeing your comment here though, I went through the whole listing of all sizes and found another few, so thanks :)

    • Yep got the QANTAS Spectre 76CM version. Been wanting a larger bag for a while now.

      • Just a follow up on the Qantas Sprectre im quite disapointed with it. This is my first hard case luggage and the way it opens up in the middle seems like a waste of space and makes it harder to pack. I prefer the have high sidewalls and a minimal lid to make it easier to pack. Oh well live and learn.

        • You can take it back to Myer and return it…
