    Is this easy to lose?

    • this offer is from eBay AU with PayPal

    • Just hook it up to your keys and it'll be easy to….. uh, crap.

    • +2

It's easy to lose among your keys - they are insanely small. They do get a little warm in use, which isn't surprising, but even if they got to around 60 C [ too hot to touch comfortably ] they should still have 30-40 degrees headroom. I'd take a sphincterly-based assessment of ~ 40-50C when running so it feels a bit scary if you remove it just after use.
I set up a linux distro on one of these for a laptop, and was booting and loading proggies in about the same subjective times as when using the internal SSD :-) [on a USB3 port]

Just buy it. Been using it for a year and attached to a cord. The cap is easy to lose, but not the USB if you keep it attached to your keys or a cord.

    • I just lost mine :(

I feel like I want one just for the novelty :/

I have 3, have used ~1 so far.

  • The 64GB EVO is typo-d as '646' GB on the listing. Might want to fix that up xD

    • thanks, I will make an update

      • Wait jokes i meant that there is a typo on the 3rd link you provided/

        • finally, it's fixed, thanks again

  • Thanks, but I just bought one for 6 cents cheaper here:

    $49.89

  • Hi Rep, will these prices be the same tomorrow when I have my $50 voucher to spend?

  • +1

Rep any deal on the Sandisk Ultra Dual Drives 64GB (lowest I can find is $30.09 or around on ebay) also please and a Sandisk Ultra Fit 64GB (lowest for local ebay stock is $28). I am sure lot of people will be interested as the 64GB Models are usually much faster with the write speeds

    • 64GB Models are usually much faster with the write speeds

source? (not questioning, just out of interest)

      • Flash memory is faster the larger the size. Goes for both USBs and SSDs. 128GB is faster than 64GB.

        • yes, that was my undrstanding, but renegade is suggesting the opposite: that the 64GB is faster than the 128GB. ;)

Added SanDisk Ultra Fit 64GB and Ultra Dual 64GB
prices are reduce to match the lowest AU seller with Tax invoice.

  • THANKS DANILOCHAN <3
It's great to see user requests being fulfilled! (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/208206#comment-2996181)

I already spent my last ebay voucher, but as a sign of thanks for delivering on my request I think I'll take the plunge on this anyway, even if it is 6c more than pcbyte.

    Thanks,

EDIT: FYI your thumbnail shows the 64GB model.

Would the 128GB USB be OK to leave in my Macbook Air (11") 24/7? Obviously the laptop does not run 24/7, but, I want to increase storage (specifically, use this to host my DropBox folder), so plan to leave this plugged in 100% of the time…

Would the high temperature problem be an issue here? I assume temperature only increase when reading/writing consistently to the device?

    • That is exactly what they are designed for. The Sandisk have a boilerplate response stating that it ` stays within the designed operating range in use' and just recommend you wait 10-20 seconds after the last use before removing it.
I was able to hold onto mine during fairly heavy transfers, but didn't test for more than four or five seconds as that in itself would block the heat transfer. The materials the drive and Macbook are made of would easily **mechanicly* withstand 100C [boiling water], and had this got above 50, it would have been to hot to comfortably hold.

  • Don't buy that little Sandisk USB. Mine gets so hot after transferring 4GB that it's literally too hot to touch. When it gets too hot it drops out as well.

  • pity the dual usb is 2.0 old model :(
