300dpi is a hangover from the first consumer laser printers. It's not relevant for photos. Say my old camera is 5mpx, and takes 2400 by 1800 photos. If I divide 2400 by 6in, I get 400dpi. Oh dear that's over 300dpi. So what, do I try to scale down the photo? Nah, just send it and let them deal with it.
greenpossum on 22/01/2010 - 14:37 ¶No they will cope with any resolution you send them. Things actually look a bit better in print than on screen because they "smooth" things (you won't see pixels), and also try to autoadjust the picture to look better. But of course they can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, as the proverb goes.
mightyhawks23 on 22/01/2010 - 14:43 ¶Once you're done uploading your photos, go back to the Main Menu then choose Digital Prints. Select the photos etc then it'll ask about delivery options. It's at checkout that it'll ask for the promo code.

You put in a name on the order and that is the reference you have in the store you collect from - I used my name to avoid confusion. Talk about an incentive I finally got around to printing some photos that were several years old and may do more once I see the quality.

Click My Orders at the top and it will show you order number. Click on the right most "i" under invoice to open up the invoice with your name on it.
You don't need to put your name on the order, it's already there in the generated invoice that you can print and take to the store for photo collection.
ssaarraahh on 22/01/2010 - 23:36 ¶haha!

is the link to the free calender!Personalized with your own photos and birthday!! Really nice!
greenpossum on 23/01/2010 - 08:07 ¶Look at it this way, they're paying about $1-2 to collect your email address.
ilovelollies on 23/01/2010 - 19:26 ¶when I click on sign up it leads me to a page called service unavaliable. Does this happen to anyone else as well?
chansthename on 23/01/2010 - 21:07 ¶I get redirected and then a flash (version 10) loads in a little while. after that it is fine but the flash took a while to load for me.
peeweekathi on 24/01/2010 - 15:49 ¶FYI - Service was unavailable this morning, but it's up and running again now!
Thanks for this post…already ordered mine VERY early this morning. Appreciate this other fab freebie:)
+2 votesPicked up mine yesterday. Not really happy with the photos, but I guess can't really complain for a freebie.
For future ref. anybody knows if Matte is better or Glossy ? ,also need to adjust the brightness of pics, most of mine came out too dark, while they look perfect on my screen ..

Surely it doesn't take a month since uploading to get photos uploaded, printed out and shipped to the store. I've been waiting for them to call me, but no dice. I have half a plan to rock up to the Liverpool store tomorrow and ask whether my photos are in yet; I really wanted to stick my food photos in my new photo album first before I stuck my holiday ones in.
Like aggregate, don't think I'll be using the online service again, either. I'm happy with waiting however long they stipulate, but this seems to take forever. Does it take this long if you actually paid for it?
I have my photos now. =) Rocked up to the Liverpool store, showed the lady my order e-mail on my mobile, explained my situation and after disappearing for a minute, she came back with my photos. She said that they called my mobile, but I never received any call, and I have my mobile on 24/7. shrugs
I think my printer at home prints photos better; more detailed. I wonder if there's any difference between those that are printed from the online store and those that are printed in store.
