  • As I've said previously, love my black one. And $6 cheaper is a no-brainer, even if it is pink! Nice post SB.

      Buy another, break out the spray paint? ;)

      • +1

        Will be doing this over the next few days…there some pink bits in the speakers that can't easily be painted though.

        • Black and Pink still makes it considerably more badass.

        • @BattleSpunk: Or black in pink.. :)

        • @Vladdo: believe it or not, but it will be pink in beige.

  • Great deal no click and collect even if you buy 2
    Edit Got it!!! buy three and return unwanted

    • You mean delivery?

      Free click and collect for over $19, so should work, otherwise probably just need $1 socks or something lol

  • is it loud?

    • Surprisingly actually! Use ours fine outside, as well as inside

      • +1

        thanks! my phone's speaker is not that loud and some podcasts i listen to are a bit quiet and hard to hear over a fan or some background noise

    I go the black one of these good value for money use it working in the yard a fair bit.

    Also don't forget to use flybuys points to make it cheaper.

  • you can check the quantity left by trying to add 99 to the cart. it says there are 20 at the moment (was 37 a while ago)

    free click & collect for me

    • Ta, got the 11th last one.

  • Just ordered one, will be handy on the front porch. Thanks!

  • Now sold out.

  • Wow sold out….

    I"m just going to assume whenever i see one of these in public that the owner is an ozbargainer.

  • Off topic but, today, I picked up one of these (a return with 1 broken CD cover hinge) for $9 - http://www.target.com.au/p/target-mini-jukebox-cd-player-wit… Pitiful (2W) sound but looks reasonable. OK for BT/radio. If only I could transplant the guts of "Pinky" into it..

  • I don't get how they run out of stock selling like hot cakes, then they find more stock and think they have to sell them cheaper even though they had run out earlier. Who is doing this at Target?

  • +1

    Back in stock, 51 in stock as of me checking at 1:49am

    • +1

      make that 50 :)

      • make it 48

          @gizmomelb:

          wow.. ordered mine last night as click and collect - had the SMS early this afternoon and already collected it! Has quite good sound and yes, it is loud (and doesn't distort). I've only tested bluetooth pairing so far and it works well with my android mobile - one thing is the 'display' button doesn't appear to do anything to display the VU meter - does it work for anyone else? Or is my button broken maybe? Thanks in advance.

          EDIT: and I can't help myself.. so I opened it up just to have a look inside. This thing is surprisingly well made! Interesting that the speakers are rated 4 ohm, 10W - the dual circuit boards are also quite nicely made (though I haven't had time to have an in-depth analysis of the ICs on there as yet - but there are the blank spots on the main circuit board for the microphone and SD card slot inputs (as can clearly be seen in this youtube video for the U.K. model - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtodgOTQQF4 - which also appears on ebay Aus for $79 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/High-Power-Speaker-Ghetto-Blaster… ) a google for "GB-5000" reveals these things are churned out in bulk and have been badged as TEAC, BUSH and tonnes of other well and not so well known brands.

          I'm sure if I take the "front" (behind the cheapie push buttons) circuit board I can test if my display button works, but man there are so many screws holding it in place and I know the buttons will just explode out of it and I'll probably lose one.. so I haven't braved it yet.

          Also the LiON battery is just 2x AA sized batteries taped together and sealed in plastic - there is the space in the casing for a second set to sit - so potentially modders could have fun with this device by extending battery life (I'd want to check the power charge circuit and make sure it's not going to blow up or overcharge the battteries). Also I've seen other models which have colour changing LEDs in them which strobe to the music. As said, modders could have a lot of fun!

          @gizmomelb:
          ok more info - the VU meter DOES work - I tried it with a USB stick and MP3 and radio. So then I tried again with BT and nothing… weird I thought, so I looked at my phone settings and my audio volume was only about middle setting so I increased it and lo and behold! VU meter on the stereo is now working under Bluetooth!

          Also I had a REALLY close look at the front LCD panel as I noticed when I pressed the DISPLAY button while playing from USB it only displayed things like T001 and F001 - no album, artist etc. details like the video for the UK model (or $89 AUD linked in previous message).

          The LCD a 14 segment, 4 character matrix display at lower left, with pre-definied segments above it which read USB, PM, CARD, MEM, VOL etc. so it wouldn't be able to display the song metadata like the other player anyways.

        • @gizmomelb: Thanks for the review. My order got cancelled and I managed to find a demo unit (no box or adaptor) that I am picking up. Would you mind letting me know what accessories were included in the box and what type of AC adapter was included? This would be a great help, thanks.

        • +1

          @sparkyglo: no worries.. there was just a paper manual / folded sheet, a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable for AUXillary input and a 9V 1.5A "wall wart" power supply.

          I still can't clearly read the marking on the ICs inside the thing, think I need a magnifying glass - eyesight doesn't mature like a fine wine :)

        • @gizmomelb: Thanks for your help. Getting the right adapter may be more difficult than I thought.

        • +1

          @sparkyglo: nah, 9V 1.5A should be fairly common - http://www.jaycar.com.au/Power-Products-Electrical/Plugpacks…

          just expensive, locally.

        • +1

          @sparkyglo:

          Potentially a car adapter for $8?

          Or 12V wall charger but not sure on putting 12V into 9V device :/ I might be recommending something bad with that one lol

        • +2

          @Spackbace: yes the car adapter would definitely work, bit of an inconvenience to recharge the stereo, but it will work.

          yes, higher voltage = a NO-NO!! If it is a REGULATED power supply, then higher AMPAGE is fine (as it'll only give the device how much it needs)

  • yep got one also

  • Back in stock got one. Thanks op.

  • Unable to find them on ebay or the website? am I missing something?

    • +1

      yes, just click on the link at top right of this article. one left by the look of it on the Target web site, 31 currently left on ebay.

  • just got one click and collect, wouldnt let me use flybuys points though, kept saying server unavailable.

  • Nice work people :)

    • Can you click and collect on their ebay store?

      • +1

        Oops didnt realise whole comment thread would get unpublished, Sorry just read conditions of eBay voucher ALL purchases had to be click and collect at Woolies/Big W - I have no idea how that would interact with Targets free postage for over $75 of purchases

    • Cheers :)

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/216219

      Figured I'd post it up again in case anyone missed out! Full cred to you of course :)

  • Are these available in store?

    • You might get lucky and find 1 still :) Definitely worth calling around to find out

  • i picked mine up today and it seems quite reasonable. i wasn't expecting too much. i didn't realise it could play mp3s from a usb stick. has a usb charging port as well.

  • the charging led on the back of mine doesn't light up when i plug in the power adapter. is there something wrong? at the moment it won't run off the rechargeable battery.

    • Sounds like something wrong :/

      • +1

        never mind, i cracked it open, reseated the battery connector and now it works.
