Ouffer.com (Daily Restaurant/Entertainment Discounts) General Discussion

Hello.

I signed up to this but what is it? is it another entertainment book without the costly purchase price?

Or is it another pretend exclusive club that is just another hot docket offer or worste.

Mod — Ouffer.com has already launched. Title updated to change to general discussion.

  • The mods were just discussing this but we have no clue either. No clues on Google, no .com.au registration, no ABN…nothing. Could be anything I guess. Maybe another one item a day site?

  • Yeah i googled it too….

    and signed up.

Hope its something half decent and hopefully not another item a day site!

  • ouffer.com.au is available to register.. probably means they don't have an ABN yet. They are using ouffer.com. Tempting.

  • Can't find any "Ouffer" on ASIC company name search either. Domain WHOIS has privacy protection on — what are they trying to hide?

Edit — it appears quite a few has already spammed Twitter with their affiliation link :)

  • Ok this is weird.

Yesterday or the day before it said the launch date was in 6 days.

    Now it is 10…??

  • Hey guys,

Sorry to keep you waiting! We've had to push back launch by a few days, but not to worry - we'll be up and running on February 8th. We're keeping mum about the concept until then, but we think you'll like it. It will be quite clear what kinds of deals you'll be getting when we launch. Until then, feel free to email us at [email protected] and we'd be happy to answer any questions or concerns.

    Thanks!

  • I have just contacted them and this is some of the information I have found: They are CERTAIN that the site will be up and running by 8th Feb. The deals are available immediately. They are as relevant to travellers as they are to residents. Those who have registered will receive an email when the site is running.

Oh, and I also discovered in their terms and conditions that they are an american website offering deals for an australian city. That may be why the are .com and not .com.au, and they don't show up on the ASIC company name search…

    • So benefits for australians/travellers with all profits heading overseas hmmm

      • Indeed it looks like the case, i.e. an American business offering "exclusive deals" for Sydney siders + lucrative referral system ($1 per friend signing up).

Just have to wait to find out.

  • Seeing Ouffer.com has already gone live (and posted a few "deals" at OzBargain), what do people find this website?

Interestingly although it's an US business, it does provide AU based contact (Sydney VoIP number + office at Grosvenor Business Center).

  • Those Grosvenor Business Center offices are virtual. They don't actually work there.

Probably either work from home or run out of the USA.

  • I've noticed that the ouffer ads say 'up to 90% off!'
there haven't been any deals that were 90% off?
is it false advertising or is it ok to say that if you have the intention of having a 90% off deal in the future =P

  • yeah i noticed that too…
Though i cant imagine a restaurant giving 90% off!
Imagine this "pay 10 now and you can spend 80 dollars later" (thats not 90% but you get the idea)

  • I have to say that I was pretty unimpressed with Ouffer…
