hasn't this always been free and constantly advertised on the amazon website?

Watch out or you will get slugged $99 USD. Irrelevant for Australia.

You can set a reminder 3 days prior. Some good discounts to be had also prime movies.

What's the point then……. and if I miss the reminder then I am out $99 USD. Also not cool to neg just because I want to warn others.

        • I didn't neg you. Look at it this way. Amazon gives extra discounts to PRIME members. Why not use it and then discontinue the membership before the trial runs out.

This happened to me - forgot about it and only noticed when checking my credit card statement.

Amazon did refund me in full though, because I hadn't placed any orders with free shipping.

        • @senorclean:
When the charge appeared in my net banking statement it included a shortened "amzn.to" link in the payment reference that took me straight to the page above.
The process took less than a minute to cancel, but I think it may have been a few days for the refund.

Just want to also add that this trial has always been available and free.

you can cancel the service as soon as it is activated. Prime membership will remain active until the end of 1 month.

^ This. Exactly what I did when I activated the trial for that sale a while back, no chance of it continuing.

A trial is not a deal. Plus it has always been 30 day free trial, on every amazon website.

Trial has always been there, and really nothing for Aus people to take advantage of. Also, Prime day sucked!

    • Ugh, prime day was a sad joke. Hopefully Black Friday is better..even with the crap dollar.

    • I use Prime every single day most of the day.
I have not used itunes in months now. I love Prime Music and TV and Movies plus I save on shipping to my USA address with Prime too!

  • I cannot see the point of Amazon Prime in Australia, the main reason to get it is free delivery and that is not available here. All the other benefits are just great bonuses.

If I lived in the US I would order EVERYTHING from Amazon, toilet paper, tooth paste all ordered and delivered individually as needed. It would be great.

  • The only reason I can see to get Prime is the new show that Richard, Hammond and May are doing. But alas, the 30 day free trial has always been there so this isn't a deal.

    • Richard, Hammond and May

I think you mean Clarkson unless Richard was short for Dick in which case you're not entirely wrong.

      • Haha, seems I accidentally excluded Clarkson and just put in Richard Hammond. I swear it wasn't on purpose.
