Yeah I don't think it's Australian stock. Aussie stock should get 24months warranty.

Not crappy, but it is old for the price

Anybody had any experience with these guys? Can't seem to find an ABN or phone number on the website and their address appears generic - 530 Little Collins Street (Exchange Tower Serviced Offices).

One of the better samsungs. Replaceable battery and , card and great performance.

    • Are there Samsungs that don't have replacable battery and SD card?
Anyway my experience with this phone is that it's slow. My wife has the HTC M8 and it runs circles around my S5.
Thank god for Telstra's New Phone Feeling. Totally gonna trade it in when the one year mark comes around.

      • Yeah never getting another lagwiz phone again. :P

        S6, note 5, alpha range

    • Is there much difference between the S5 and the S6 non-edge?

      • +1

        Screen: S6 is 2560x1440 (QHD), S5 is 1080x1920 (HD)

        RAM: 3gb (S6) vs 2gb (S5)

CPU: S6 uses Exynos 7420, quite a bit newer than the Snapdragon 801 in the S5.

Both have a fingerprint reader, but the one on the S5 is annoying to use, S6 works much better.

S6 has better LTE specs by the looks of it but I'm not sure if that is relevant in Australia.

        S5 has a bigger battery (2800mAh) than the S6 (2550).

S6 does not have removable storage (SD) or a removable battery, S5 has both, however S5 does not have quick charge (charge from flat in a bit over an hour on S6).

I think the camera sensor is newer/better on the S6, it is consistently noted as the "best smartphone camera", if camera is important to you.

There are other obvious differences (like design, I think the S6 looks a lot nicer), but otherwise those are the main differences. Also the S6 will have better software support, ie. will get marshmallow but I doubt the S5 will get an official update to marshmallow.

Personally I would go with an LG G4 when that goes on sale, usually can be had for $450-500 or so. IMO a much better deal than the S5. I'd pay probably $400 tops for an S5, but that's me.

    • and has lots of 4G bands unlike many other phones. I have a gre market Korean one from Kogan, nice thing is being Korean it gets updates before Telstra or Optus phones do.

  • Not Australian stock.

    Sealed ≠ brand new

I would be wary just because they use the word "sealed". Doesn't say brand new anywhere so this could be a refurbish unit

This phone is guaranteed to be new and has never been used by an end consumer. All of our phones leave our fulfilment centre in pristine condition with absolutely no sign of wear. The item may be a factory second or a new, unused item with absolutely no defects. It may or may not come in its original retail packaging and some stocks are sealed. Whilst the handset is 100% genuine, accessories such as the charger and earphones that come with it may come with after-market equivalents that are fully compatible with the phone. However for some stocks if possible, we will include original accessories. All of our phones are fully backed by our Australia-wide warranty and may have been activated earlier. You can contact us directly for any warranty claim instead of the vendor. Please refer to our Warranty page for full details and what to do if your phone develops a fault. Please feel free to email us if you are not sure

I bought an S5 (great phone) last week from Good Guys on ebay with 20% discount for $479, pick up instore. Only $10 more than this deal for genuine new Aussie stock with all bands and 24 month Samsung warranty. OK, Good Guy deal has expired and is not much good to you now, but that suggests to me the price on the S5 is coming down and it might be worth hanging out for other discount offers. Btw, the S5 is a replacement for a grey import phone that died just within the 12 month "Australian" warranty. Three months, three shoddy repairs and trips to/from HK later, not to mention $35 postage to Sydney and an unbelievable run around, it is still an unusable piece of junk that can't hold a signal, hence the new S5 purchase. I will never buy grey import again, especially for an item you use every day like a phone, which has a fair chance of something going wrong.
