TPG is $60/m with home phone rental. And unlimited quota. Your move.

    • Only where TPG hardware is installed, seems like these guys are reselling Telstra? Maybe OP can confirm?

      • FYI, We work with a reseller which is owned by TPG.

        • How long would a TPG to NetVibes swap take if I was to put in an order today? (Off-Net)

        • @dewy: Usually an ADSL only connection would take anywhere between 3 to 5 working days. A home phone + adsl takes anywhere between 10 to 14 working days.

      • I cant wait to get of Telstra ADSL+2 and I know a lot of people have issues with it (slow speeds). Is this a problem with ADSL connections in general I wonder as im hesitant to touch it again and would be looking for some sort of cable connection

    • Exetel is $58 for the same thing your move LOL

    • -3

Looks like OP wasn't willing or able to accept your 'challenge' so I'll give it a try if you don't mind. ;)

Unlimited data, phone line rental and NO CONTRACT for $54.85.

      How's that?

      • only for about 4% of the country

        • Maybe 4% of the landmass but what % of the population?

Most people in metro areas that are not in outer suburbs can get it.

I can get it where I am on the Gold Coast and so can most of my mates who live in capital cities.

    • Or AusBBS unlimited + line rental $59.75/month. Only in the "On-net" zone though.

      • Would be handy to know what service they offer at a particular address/number.

      • -1

        Mate,

No one wants to go on a 12 months or 24 months contract. Casual is $125 upfront.

        Netvibe offers
        No Lock-In Contract
        No Exit Fees.
        No Peak/Off-Peak Regulations
        No cheeky excess fees.

        • The Netvibe rep hasn't answered my questions, which makes me nervous.

  • WOT doesn't like your site. You might want to get this cleared up

    • +2

      This doesn't even make sense?

      • Exactly, but if WOT pops up I get put off.

    • I don't know how but customers sometimes confuse us with www.netvibes.com (some french site)!!

      • +1

Site isn't working on my work computer or my mobile. Pretty dodgy.

        • +1

          same here.

Next time OP, may I suggest you 'load test' your site before you put a deal on Ozbargain.

Haven't you heard the term 'OzBargained' before? ;)

We don't muck around here and mean business.

  • +1

I'm very interested, it seems the off-net plan is an additional $10 but since TPG has started reaming us for excess downloads this is tempting, $5 less for an extra 400GB.

    • Hi dewy, feel free to call us or leave your details on "Express your interest" tab and someone from our support centre will call you.

  • You can find more cheaper ones. Exetel does it for $29 per month. It's all about how reliable the service is.

  • Static IP?

    • Yes, we do provide static IP.

  • good for people looking for short term connection.

  • What exactly is the different between on net and off net plans?

    • On-net is mostly metro area. Off-net is the outer suburbs. Sometimes, even the outer suburbs are counted as On-net area. Please do an address check to find whether your property is in on-net or off-net area.

    • +1

My understanding off-net is a fancy name given to "we cant be bothered servicing your area so you rent the space from Telstra"

      • Ultimately Telstra owns all the infrastructure so on-net or off-net, both belong to Telstra! But you are right, pricing for on-net and off-net depends on the infrastructure provided by the carrier.

      • +1

Also worth noting that is a bit factually incorrect. In terms of exchanges it may hold true, but in terms of cabinets/RIMs it's a little more complicated.

If you are on a cabinet/RIM based service, you HAVE to use a Telstra wholesaled product. No ifs no buts, Telstra must be paid to have an ADSL service on this infrastructure.

  • +1

Doesn't seem like a bad deal, currently pay $49.99 with TPG, however this is 250GB peak/250GB off peak, the trouble is I'm finding I barely use any off peak as it's 2:30am to 8:30am, and almost exceeding peak.

What happens if you exceed cap - is it just throttled until new month?

What's the catch? (NO sign up, no excess, no contract) surely that's a risk to your business - so where do you make up for this - it makes me nervous when it seems like it's too good to be true.

I'm currently with TPG, so seems my service would be identical with this company.

Also, longevity of this company - if I switch will this company be around in 6 months time?

    • We don't have any peak-offpeak capping on usage. Once you exceed the cap, you go on to speed of 512 Kbps.
Yes, the plan looks too good to be true but because we are fairly new in the telco business, we have come up with really competitive plans to gain more customers.
Our intentions are to stay around forever! Like I mentioned in the previous comment, we work with a reseller which is owned by TPG.

I just contacted them and enquired about the Basic Bundle Plan.
There is a promotion for unlimited data rather than the advertised 500gb, confirmed with them that this applies when you register online or over the phone.

    • What are details of the promotion? Is it just unlimited for the first month for example?

      • permanent unlimited

      • So you basically get the "Ultimate" (Unlimited plan) with no contract for the Basic Bundle price.

    • What cost did that come out as?

I've just had a look and the bundled with 'phone says $80

      • Appeared as $85 for me

  • i'm getting $55 per month on the website? i cannot see it for $45 per month…

    • Hi @Micoa, this means that the system recognizes your area in the off-net zone.

    • I got $55 for basic & $60 for ultimate, yet it also said I could get ADSL+2 no mention of off-net?

  • Is this offer valid if you are on a RIM?

    • -2

Hi NickFritz, can you shed some light on what a RIM is?

      • -1

You're an ISP and don't know what one is?

      • Hi NickFritz, I enquired about RIM. We need to know your home phone number in order to check if we can supply you with ADSL. Please email your details to [email protected]

      • Remote Integrated Multiplexer
A RIM, otherwise known as a Remote Integrated Multiplexer, is a device that Telstra uses to provision telephone services in areas where there is no existing copper, or the existing copper in the ground cannot support the demand for services in the area. RIMs are a fairly modern and flexible Pair Gain system designed mainly for urban areas in cities due to their ability to multiplex a large number of lines.

    • +1

RIMs are treated the same as 'off-net', to help the ISP out (that's worrying).

  • Can you do any better compared to what I'm already on: $60/mth, ultd, no contract. Live in a "rural" area, on a Telstra exchange, so currently coming up as $60/mth w/12mth contract.

    • Hi Crumbo, please call us or leave your details on our website to discuss this further.

  • I'm about to move into an apartment in Carlton. No phone is connected yet and don't really need a home phone. Do you do any naked ADSL deals?

    • +2

I don't really get naked sometimes - it seems like it's just got the line rental included in the internet monthly fee anyway…sometimes a naked plan is the same cost as a normal adsl plus phone line fees…

You simply just don't connect your home phone…done :)

      • I honestly never thought of simply not connecting a phone. Ha!

        • i guess thats where they get you, you pay for a service that you can't use.

but if you have a home phone does that mean you number is in the white pages?

        • @Micoa:

But naked prices are more expensive so it's like you're paying for it anyway.

Even if you sign up for a separate Budget Telstra line or a bundled phone with an ISP, simply don't connect the phone line.

Not sure about phone book, but just leave phone disconnected then it won't ring, it might as well not be there :p

    • +1

I've been told by several technicians that if the cost is the same (or nearly) that you should avoid naked ADSL where possible - from a technical standpoint it's apparently easier to diagnose faults etc when there is the additional twisted copper of a full connection…

      • Yep. Naked doesn't make any sense these days (unlike say 5 years ago).

You won't save any money in most cases.

    • @antonthenet, if you're moving to a brand new premises and have no phone line connected there, Belong (the budget version of Telstra) offers the ABSOLUTE BEST DEAL in Australia right now.

You can use them to get the initial ADSL connection up and running and save over $300 in installation and setup costs.

After the first month, you can give them the flick if you want and go with someone else.

All the details can be found here. There is also a suggestion there of who to go with from the second month onwards and the switch will only cost you four bucks in fees.

  • I'd be interested if it was $40 unlimited (peace of mind, usually do about 350gb i think) like i have with clubtelco, no contract, just to see if the speed is any better than what i get today which is a bit flaky… but not gonna gamble paying more for no reason.

    • +1

Hi Xizor, we cannot drop prices any further than what is mentioned. It is totally your decision who to go with.

  • The site down???

  • +1

    Never heard of this telco.

  • $55 /month for inner suburban & line rental $30. No thanks.

  • Rep, My address is not showing on your website.

Lot 67 Kolinio Rd, Yirrkala Northern Territory 0880.

Would be nice if you can provide ADSL 2+ for me instead of Telstra. Telstra wants $254 for the first month. Yours is only $55 for the first month right? Since there's no connection fee.

  • Invalid Address! Please Try Again
Even though my address appears in the drop down before i even finish entering my street name. Guess they don't like me!

    • Hi scuba79, please call us or leave your details on the website. The system doesn't recognize all addresses.

  • So what's the difference between the basic and unlimited bundle? Both CIS's say you'll shape after 250gb, which is technically unlimited but pretty deceptive

    • So it's not true 500gb cap but half of it at crippled speeds??

      • sorry my mistake the basic one does say 500gb then it's shaped. Only the unlimited one says 250gb then shaped

  • ADSL… I'm in. Just let me tune up the carbs on my Kingswood, fill'er up with standard, and drive over to your shop!

  • Am I missing something here? Why would the unlimited option cost more and have a lower download cap (250GB)?
