SanDisk Ultra Fit 32GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive $14.95 Delivered @ Wireless 1

910

Hi guys,

I was looking for a Sandisk mini flash drive and I came across this deal which I thought was pretty good.

Not sure when the deal is ending though so you'll have to check. Also, they seem to have plenty of stock for now.

Edit: Seems to be out of stock now so marking it as expired.

    • +3

      From an Amazon review:

      • When connected to a computer with USB 2.0 port:
        Sequential Read = 34.8MB/s, Sequential Write = 18.6MB/s

      • When connected to a computer with USB 3.0 port:
        Sequential Read = 148.4MB/s, Sequential Write = 39.4MB/s

Good price but would rather spend another $2 and buy it locally at msy for easier warranty

    • There site says it's Australian stock with local manufacturer warranty.

      • No stores in WA :)

        • +1

          same no store in VIC

        • @tgame:
I don't think they have any store outside Westfield Parramatta. When I last went to the store, I found they were very patient and helpful and explained everything in a simple way. I'm sure the same would be the case over the phone.

So in terms of warranty, hopefully they'll be just as helpful.

        • @mdjaved: of course, i hope so. thx for the post

Note: these tend to overheat quite a bit if using them constantly.
I had one in a digital photo frame and at the end of the day it was pretty damn hot.

    • +3

      End of the day?
I have the 128gb, and it overheats within minutes if not seconds of reading/writing on the USB.

      • +3

Yes, it's very hot after several seconds. I doubt the life time of this flash drive.

      • That's good to know!
I just plugged in it and forgot about it!
Only went to grab it again coz I wanted to put some more photos on there.
Decided to stop using it after that

        • I use it for transferring media files, but not actually using it to watch movies streamed from the usb. Works fine for that; high storage for small size.

      • Thanks for letting me know. I was planning to put it in my Microserver. Just wondering if that would be a good idea. Otherwise I can always use it for transferring file too.

        • Not a good idea yeah, I change my mind on this USB. Sequential write speeds suffer over a couple minutes of data transfer. Possibly because of overheating throttling or just poor performance (25Mb/s), vs peak speeds of 50Mb/s for the 300Mb file sized 21Gb total data I transferred last night.
Again, super hot to touch. But cool within a minute.

        • @ATangk:
Thanks for the info. Any other USB that you can suggest for the Microserver; I'll be using it in the internal USB port.

        • @mdjaved:

I have the 16gb version in my Microserver (Gen8). I have ESXi installed on it.

        • @psy:
Cool. That's exactly the one I have although I got two of them for FreeNAS and ESXi. So you put it in the internal USB port and no heating issues?

        • @mdjaved:

Internal. No idea about heat as the Gen8 is cased up. It's been in there since April though w/out any issue.

        • @psy:
Sandisk specifies 45C maximum operating temperature yet practical experience shows the device to be significantly higher. Luck eventually runs out, but at least there's hope and denial.

    • Did you call emergency services?

I've had a few of these. Apart from one of them that DID overheat - so much so that it failed (read/writing - I did lose some non-important data) - they've been great. I sent it back and was refunded (bought from shopping square). So I suspect a few of these are faulty if they're getting TOO hot.

I've had one sitting in my Asus AC68U router for months now and it's fine. The faulty one would get ridiculously hot very quickly, even having nothing really 'done' on it. Just sitting connected to a powered USB port made it hot to touch. The rest (I bought 3 x 16GB from shopping square, and 4 (2 x 16GB, 2 x 32GB) from MSY Auburn later on)… have been fine with no problems at all.

Tempted to buy a few now as these are cheaper than the prices I paid… but in reality I doubt I need any more. Great to carry around in my laptop bag… also good to use one in my car stereo for music. Thanks a lot OP! Damn…

    • i was planning on buying one and just leaving it in my laptop. would this be a bad idea?

  • These are bloody excellent for the price!

    I have 2x 16GB (for Windows 10 ISO / Windows 10 Recovery), 1x 32GB (for Games), 1x 64GB (for Installers).

I'll continue to buy these, the read and write speeds (and compact size + activity light) are just too good to ignore for the price :D

  • how do you guys carry these around? i'm not sure how to keep this without losing it given it's so tiny :)

    • Keychains.

      • how does it attach on?

    • That's what she's said.

Why is this marked as out of stock? It isn't for me….

  • +1

Cheers OP, just ordered one. Not sure why it's marked as OOS!

  • Hi all,

Just checked the site again and I can see that it is in stock with the supplier. So you should be getting it soon :)

Picked up the 128GB version from Amazon US for $29 a couple months back. They're on sale at Amazon US from time to time. Works perfectly.

  • Thanks OP, purchased one. But when I wanted to purchase another one to a different address, I got an error:
"Sorry, we don't know the postcode you entered.
It may be invalid or we can't ship to it.
Please confirm you entered the correct postcode."

    • I had the same issue before - All I did was change the address in my address book. But I had a login that time. Are you logging in at all? Or simply using it as a Guest?

      • Hmm I think I was logged in. Anyway, I purchased another one from ebay instead.

  • Found a 32gb one with a larger profile for $5 at auspost on Friday in Williamstown VIC. USB 3.0. Away at the moment so can't post, but it may be worth a look if you don't need the small form factor.

  • I love these low profile ones for working on my laptop and can even store in laptop bag without having to remove stick. Thanks for sharing.

  • Seems to be outof stock

    • +1

So get the one mmd suggested from ebay.
