Our local pizza shop is so good, we've never bothered trying someone else…

        • +2

you cant really compare it with most 'gourmet' type pizzas, but for around 4 bucks its a decent deal

        • -7

          @steff:

you cant really compare it with most 'gourmet' type pizza

our local is just plain Italian style, not gourmet, not woodfired, just take away…

our nearest Domino's doesn't have a good score on Zomato… Not worth saving $5 and getting a bad pizza…

        • +14

          @jv: Yes it is

        • +5

Than how do you know its 'so good'?, it might be crap relative to other places.

        • -8

          @gamechanger:

Than how do you know its 'so good'?

Because we've been ordering them there for a few years now…

        • -3

          @gamechanger:

it might be crap relative to other places.

It has a better Zomato & Yelp score than the nearest Domino's

        • +5

          @jv:
          But where is the bargain?

        • -2

          @Spazzwan:

          But where is the bargain?

Possibly for some people that live near a better Domino's store…

        • +7

@jv: You said "not worth getting bad pizza", unless you have tasted it, how can you make assumption based on a score? Nobody claims Domino's is the best pizza around, but I do know it sometimes beats the overpriced local stores.

        • +7

@jv: Disappointed with the Ozbargain mob downvote mentality, I've tried a few times just cos its so cheap but have always regretted it, even if its a few bucks cheaper… local pizza places are way more generous for the price

        • +3

@aza0003: then you have to make your own dominos pizza using the designa pizza selection

        • -5

          @gamechanger:

"not worth getting bad pizza", unless you have tasted it

          I'm going by the reviews

        • +6

@aza0003: Where I live the local places are min $17 for a 'small', dominos is good value for money.

        • +2

@jv: You live in a bubble ball?

        • +2

@gamechanger: Fair enough, for me the local place (Melbourne outer suburbs) is around $10 for a large which I'd happily pay to save myself the heartache of a tiny dominos pizza with exactly 1 piece of salami per slice

        • +1

          @jv:
LOL.. doesn't sounds like jv at all.. jv's account must have got hijacked.

        • +2

@aza0003: where I'm from, the local pizzas (gourmet/woodfired or not) - they are ridiculously overpriced. And a lot of people buy the cheaper and have not regretted it. I guess it's personal opinion.

        • +2

@aza0003: Very lucky! If I had those prices I wouldn't eat dominos either. But at these prices can pretty much buy 3 pizzas for the 1 local one.

        • +3

@aza0003: Local pizza places are usually $15-$20 a pizza. Not comparable to this at all.

        • +1

@Orpheus: no idea local pizza was so expensive, fair enough then

        • @jv: Not sure it would help anyway. The morning after I eat one, I'm so thirsty it's ridiculous. Even when I leave off (what should be) the only salty things - the processed meats - it still does it.

  • +3

Doesn't work for the value range.
The cheapest pizzas are the extra value range, $4.77 each.
Better to go for the frozen Dr. Oetker pizzas from Coles at $3.75 each until Wednesday.

    • +10

      $1.02 extra for a cooked pizza in 15 min? I know what I'd choose…

      • People say the Dr. Oetker ones taste better.
But yes Dominos can be more convenient.

        • They're a chain store but it really does vary from store to store.

My local is great but another one 10 minutes down the road doesn't even compare in terms of quality the times I've had them.

  • damn good deal.

  • Friday dinner sorted

  • +1

Good deal. Unfortunately the Domino's store near me is horrible. The pizzas are almost always burnt, and when not they're dry and inedible. Plus they often forget half the order.

    • -6

Good deal. Unfortunately the Domino's store near me is horrible.

If the pizza is horrible, why is it a good deal for you ???

      • +5

good deal for pizza but not personally for him as the store near him is horrible. Note that he did not +1 the deal.

        • -8

good deal for pizza but not personally for him

          It's not a good deal if it's bad value…

          As GunnerMcDagget stated…

Domino's store near me is horrible.

        • +1

@jv: never said anything about bad value. Im glad you understand now.

      • +7

We get it mate, even though you have never tried it, you don't like Dominos. Cool Story.

        • -4

          you don't like Dominos

I never said that. You just made it up.

I said our local one has bad reviews…

          Good try though…

    • Complain to management or order from a different store and pick it up.

    • +3

wouldn't it be great if people actually read the voting guidelines before randomly negging away…?

      Inappropriate uses of negative vote
      - Incorrect or missing information in title or description

      • -3

        Appropriate uses of negative vote
        Cheaper price elsewhere

        • -4

          so… this is awkward.

        • -2

Did you forget to add something??

          Appropriate uses of negative vote

          Cheaper price elsewhere
Mention store or URL and price making sure to include shipping.

Mention specific examples where the other vouchers are cheaper than this code.

          Awkward indeed.

        • -4

"Incorrect or missing information in title or description -
          Requesting price in title.
          Requesting shipping cost.
          Mentioning RRP.
          SPAMMY sounding title.
          Misspelling or grammar issue.
          Incorrect URL.
          Listed as freebie."

The incorrect information i'm talking about isn't any of these. he's actually telling us ANY FULL PRICE PIZZA is 40% off, which is blatantly untrue.

          Please read next time.

        • -2

If you post a deal that says 'Free hats', but the hats are actually $10, and actually bananas, you deserve to be negged.

        • @thumbybumbi:

          You wrote…

          Your description is misleading.

That would fall under "Incorrect or missing information in title or description. If the deal description needs fixing then it will be done. It doesn't need a neg.

          Please read next time.

please sir, may I have some more?

  • That is awesome!

  • thanks op. ordered some.

  • +8

Wow. More negatives in the comments than you'd find in a photography lab.

  • +1

LOLOLOL there's like a massive chain reaction of comments in the negative above!

    • +5

It's bound to happen when JV is involved. ;)

      • +2

Can someone explain the disdain for JV. I always see him negged, his comments above don't seem that bad lmfao. I might join the cause if you can convince me why JV deserves it.

        • +7

Because JV deliberately writes stuff to get a reaction.

        • +2

LOL yea it's funny how much people hate Jv, I love her, she has some funny comments every now and than. You can join any train you like, it adds interest to threads when there's a villian.

        • +1

@Zylam Marex: jv's a girl ? I always presumed jv was a rogue computer program like ultron (only weaker).

      • LOLOLOL yup wouldn't have it any other way.

  • +1

Just bought a Chicken Hawaiian and a garlic bread for $6.17. Was so filling I could only finish half. Dinner usually costs me $3 anyway so a win-win!

  • +1

how long is this valid for?

  • I hope this is valid a bit, had a horrible day and an awesome dinner from there, cheapest we've had the chicken from them ever and a nice chefs best pizza.

I dont get why people keep giving them crap, I can understand having a bad shop and bad staff, as long as we don't get the indian manager when we order we normally get a damn good order (he's stingy and burns stuff and screws up orders).

We've got a ton of other pizza shops in our area all the oldies swear by and we've had more food poisoning from the "real pizza" shops than you can shake a stick at, we've got a local that my father swears by and each time we've been there we've had to ask them to put gloves on and handle the food safely.

Hope this special is up for a bit, the buffalo sauce is to die for.

  • I dont get why…

    1. Because I can go to four different stores, order the exact same thing, and get four completely different pizzas.

    2. Because I can add toppings, and not find them on the pizza.

    3. Because I remove toppings, yet find them still on the pizza.

    4. Because they realise halfway through they're not supposed to be adding this topping, and leave that wrong topping on only part of the pizza.

    5. Because they remove all the toppings you removed - and add none of the toppings you added!? (Had this happen about a week ago!)

    6. Because you fill out their survey and mention these things, and never hear from them. (So why waste our time, having the survey.)

    ;-p

  • +1

    Thanks OP.

  • +1

    Good deal OP.

I think the key thing with Dominos is to know your store. Some are really good, some are really crap. This tends to reflect in peoples comments about Dominos in general.

  • +2

Strange it doesn't work with Value pizzas (standard $5) but does with the rest.

    Traditional now $7.17

    Chef's Best now $6.57

    Value Plus now $4.77

Pretty good value assuming your store makes them well.

    • +1

      Chef's Best now $6.57 <- That's a good price.

    • How? Cheapest i can get is $10

  • I don't have an issue with the Dominos even if its Indian owned.
They are value for money and their staff are polite & helpful too .

While the others are waiting in the queue at Centrelink collecting their benefits
I salute the Indians they are buying up all the Dominos, Pizza Huts, Subways, Maccas, Hungry jacks, Nandos , 7-eleven, Service Stations etc., They are even buying up all the Real-estate Agencies, Soon they will be the richest in Australia like in the UK .
And they have culture, they work very hard , Look at their kids how well they respect their parents, and are top students in most schools.
we Aussies have a lot to learn from them than complaining!.

    http://grabhouse.com/urbancocktail/10-outstanding-indian-ceo…

    • A lot of the franchises are not owned by Indians, instead they're hired because they work far harder than a local Australian.

  • Thank you, OP!

  • Ta

  • Thanks OP, dinner ordered!

  • When does this offer expire?

    • not sure,i'd just ordered mine an hour ago, damn so regretted it! it doesn't taste as nice as it looks.

  • anyone realize that on web order, the price per each pizza is at least $2 more delivered, than if we do our own pickup? or only me? even the public holiday (melbourne cup's day today) surcharge is more per delivery/item than pickup..

  • Still working for me, great deal cheers. Used another code for a Value Pizza - as mentioned above, it won't work on them.

  • Doesn't discount the crust options. Still $2.95 for cheesy crust.

  • Anyone know how to make this stack with other discount coupon? is that even possible? eg Traditional for 6.95 + 40% off?

  • +1

A traditional full price pizza here is $20.95 delivered. Even at 40% off, Dominos prices themselves way out of competition given their quality. I can go to gourmet pizza shops and pay a fraction more than what I do at Dominos' regular price and I get a pizza that's well and truly worth eating.

  • FYI for Melbourne people you can try this with an AmEx for the Shop Small deal. Please note I have not tested this myself but it IS on the Shop Small map:

DOMINOS PIZZA - Shop 12-14, 190 Jells Rd, Wheelers Hill, VICTORIA 3150 <— Only VIC one I could see

  • EXPIRED

    • yes also showing up as expired for me in ACT
