As a dental professional, I thoroughly recommend these toothbrushes. You can use different heads on them too, so get this one and the Diamondclean heads and you're in business. :) I have tried the oral b, the colgate, and various sonicares, and this one has come out on top without a doubt.

Pity I can't say the same about their oral irrigators.

EDIT: only issue is getting replacement heads - I sell them at cost price at my clinic, which can be cheaper than at DJs etc.
EDIT: no I don't get kickbacks from Philips… if only. XD

    • Good to know, thanks! Obviously I bought one before linking on here. My Oral B 500 has seemed sluggish this past 6 months, either I'm getting used to it or it's dying. The travel case and head covers got me over the line, and all the reviews I found were good too.

    • What do you mean you can use different heads on them? Do you mean you can use the ORAL B toothbrush heads?

    • What is the costprice?

      • For the heads, $18 for a pair of diamondclean small or regular sized. Didn't check the price on the others.

  • Question can you change the batteries for these?
Currently have an ORAL B one which is slowly dying an unfortunate death but can't change the battery.

    Thanks.

No, but the battery life on these is much better than for the colgate or oral b. My 1yo diamondclean lasts two weeks on a single charge, and my old flexcare (3 years old) lasts a week.

      • Thanks for that information, definitely something to consider.
Have an Oral B one that lasts approximately 2-3 days on charge now. First got it lasted a week.

How much are the heads @ cost price?

        • +1

$18 a pack of two heads, large or small head.

        • Great thanks! I have one already, it does clean properly however sometimes I accidentally hit the top of the toothbrush head onto my teeth which feels awkward. I've had an oral b toothbrush before with a rotating toothbrush head and didn't have this problem .

just a heads up, this is a series 6. Might not make much difference but i think they're up to series 8.

    • thanks, so I guess it's older stock and older battery too

      • Yeah, that's my concern. Plus the series 8 comes witha UV sanitiser. I could be wrong and maybe series 6 is just a more basic model?!

        • UV sanitiser has been around for years - that's the one I have had for three years. It's just a more basic model.

COTD is renowned for selling old stock and close to use by date food, so it won't be too surprising if these are indeed older stock

        • @haz: better not eat this then!

    • Thanks. Regardless the cheapest I've seen it anywhere so still a deal for those that want a toothbrush but don't care about the latest model…

I agree. Essentially the main features of the toothbrush are the heads and the oscillation rate, pressure-sensor etc. if they are the same (I might be mistaken if they aren't), I think that's good as for me :)
