Yes, it is Mobileciti, but it is cheaper than their eBay offer ($505.80), and the watch is in stock and the cheapest I can find it for Australian Stock on staticice.

If you go via cash rewards to ebay dream-seller it would only be $431.54 or mobiciti for $493.16

You probably missed the part where I said Australian stock…

You probably missed the part where I said you can go via cash rewards to ebay's mobiciti and get it for $493.16.

        • You're right about that, but I don't think that's worthy of a neg.

      • How do you know it's AU stock? Does it say somewhere?

      Still a rip off price..

    What is wrong with mobileciti?

    • Did you mean to say Samsung?

I Bought from them before, and they have great service.

Good experience for me - I've had stuff delivered and also picked up from their store.

  • The bigger question is, who's getting the classic or sport edition?

    • I got the classic edition from Samsung discount last week with cash rewards.

      Classic over sport any day.

      • sweet how much did it cost after discount? And in your opinion does it feel premium? I've currently got a demo of the s2 sport on my wrist and it feels pretty cheap

        • I wanted the classic as I was after a leather banded smart watch, with the classic feel.

I actually looked at the Fossil Q series, but they are not available in AU until March next year, even though they were released in Oct in US.

It feels good on my wrist, which isn't large, and you can reportedly get any band you want for this watch, due to standard pins, unlike the sport which requires the special band.

There seems to be a metal piece in the band which touches the body of the watch in the band which comes with it, but I am unsure of the purpose.

Overall I am happy at the moment with the purchase.

      • It was a good price :)

      • Can you use it's speaker for calls ?? I mean can you talk on the watch ?

        • No. You watch alerts you to phone calls, and you can reject calls with it including canned responses, but cannot talk to it.

You can initiate calls, but rings on your phone.

If you have a blue tooth headset you wouldn't need to get out phone to make a call.

        • @pax: thank for your reply. This is actually a deal breaker for me. As I need one with Speaker for calls

    • I thought about that myself, but if you're going to use the fitness tracking functions, you're going to be wearing it while exercising and getting sweaty. Leather bands are not good if you're getting sweaty. The sweat will deteriorate the leather.

Too bad they don't make steel bands.

I don't think the leather band is worth the $100 premium over the Sport edition.

Is there a reason why bigger retailers like HN don't stock this?

      • Could the band be replaced by any "standard" watch ones? I know that would be extra cost through.

        • It can reportedly. There is a spare half strap in the pack in case of wear, and degradation, so I am not too worried about sweat issues at this stage.

I have a Citizen Eco-Drive as my wet activity watch sitting on my bedside always charging.

        • The Classic one lets you change the band.

I just wonder why Samsung doesn't include a steel band SKU like Apple and Motorola.

        • @pax:

I just got mine today. Be mindful the other band is not really a spare because it is shorter (small wrists). For me, I can JUST wear it with the large band - 2nd notch from last.

    still expensive.

    • How about you look up the voting guidelines before you keep throwing out neg votes with no real reason given? You've already had 1 revoked today

Nice watch, be good if Apple comes out with similar

  • I saw the watch today at HN actually. Looks alright, but all of these watches still have a ways to go before they're ready for prime time. The display is 302 ppi officially, but it's still no "retina" display. You can still see individual pixels and the pixel grid.

When you can get it to at least an iPhone's ppi, then it will look nice.

I still think some of the bulk needs to be shaved off, and a women's size available. This one is still a bit big, and I'm a man. Ideally it should be the size and thickness of a swiss watch, but that could be years away.

That said, I'm still interested in one if I can get it for the right price, which would be no more than $300 for AU stock. I very much think Gear S3 a year from now will be a big improvement over S2.

Can't be any bigger than a Hublot :p
