Good deal, however doesn’t work with iPhone.

Also, photo paper seems to cost more than the printer itself, may be a good time to purchase the printer now and save it until the photo paper is on sale.

doesn’t work with iPhone.

and that will most likely be Apple’s fault, not Dell’s.

I’ve seen some comments about jailbreaking to get it to work, has anyone found an app for that?

iBluetooth in the Cydia app. But doen’t work with the 3G S.

Unless someone else knows a way?

iBluenova is coming out in the next few weeks, that will work on ALL bluetooth enabled iPod Touch/iPhone.

Apple doesn’t support the FTP, BIP or OPP bluetooth profiles. Maybe in the next iteration of iPhone OS.

They used to cost around $250.

stumo on 09/02/2010 - 22:59 ¶

You can buy extra paper at time of purchase, $15 odd extra gets you 96 sheets, then get 15% off the paper as well.

I bought 2 sets of printer/paper, seemed rude not to at this price.

prankster on 10/02/2010 - 08:33 ¶

sorry which extra paper do you buy?
im confused, e.g. what does 2 packs of 2X3 12sheets paper, Standard Delivery mean - how many do you get?

Gravatar

parta on 09/02/2010 - 23:05 ¶

It’s much better to buy the paper with the printer than later to avoid paying extra for shipping, I just ordered a pink one, I doubt it’ll arrive in time, but here’s hoping..

Gravatar

stumo on 09/02/2010 - 23:12 ¶

In time for what?

RE the extra paper, just buy the $15 96 sheet deal with the printer, then just buy future paper on eBay, far far cheaper than getting it from dell.

Gravatar

parta on 09/02/2010 - 23:22 ¶

It appears to be cheaper to buy the printer with the 96 sheets of paper than to buy paper from ebay so I went and bought a second printer. I hope they don’t do another “dell” and say it’s a pricing error

Gravatar

eddomak on 09/02/2010 - 23:34 ¶

Probably genuine as the last time it was around $37.50 with 96 sheets of paper - bought 2 that time. :) Print quality is variable - even on the same file. Sent the same photo direct from the camera to the printer via Pictbridge and some were a lot better than others. Also I have found Bluetooth printing to yield worse quality than Pictbridge connections or USB to PC connections using the same file.

This is a duplicate.

I think the Wasabi printer was $28.60 late last year, then it went back up to $79 and now it’s back down to $28.60 again.

Teddo on 10/02/2010 - 04:03 ¶

I have the Pogo and a couple of Dells from last time. This is a v. good deal. But be wary as output is varied and theres a problem with streaks whatever the expiry date of the paper - this can be temporarily overcome

Ibluenova is due out for jailbroken Iphone 3GS anytime.

I got one of these for about $28 last year.
They are really, really lame.
The pictures are small, blurry, and unless you feed through the cleaning paper about a dozen times before each print, they appear with large streaks running through them.
My Canon Selphy is 1000 times better.

which Canon Selphy? theres different models out there

Gravatar

zhoufelix on 10/02/2010 - 09:23 ¶

i am about to ask the same thing, to me, the option only came up with 48 sheet at $7.70.
no more 96 sheets deal?

you select the printer, then follow the configuration.

Gravatar

cairnsn on 10/02/2010 - 12:08 ¶

same…which is not really a bargain because you get 24 sheets included in the base price…so its really 24 additional sheets for $7.70

Gravatar

stumo on 10/02/2010 - 12:48 ¶

Hmmm, well all I can say is the 96 sheet option was there late last night.

It gave the 48 sheet and 96 sheet options in bullet points that you could select, on the next page after selecting the printer. Dell maybe realised they were loosing money on that option so removed it.

Headless Turkey on 10/02/2010 - 10:55 ¶

Also can’t add more than 1 pack of paper without buying separately @ $40.70 for the 98 pack. Not such a deal deal if you can’t get a heap of paper with it. Oh well. Still a + deal.

I bought 2, one for me and one for the girlfriend. I could hardly find any “real” technical specs on Dell’s site though, so if anyone knows: does it work with Mac (2009 MacBook Pro running OS X), or eee PC (H1000). They both have bluetooth and normal USB plugs… I read one comment somewhere saying it doesn’t use “normal” USB, plugging it in to a notebook doesn’t work, and that the iPhone doesn’t support that kind of Bluetooth. But nothing very concrete.

itsross on 10/02/2010 - 17:14 ¶

Any device that can send files via bluetooth can use this. ie everything except the iPhone.

Just got an email saying the 8 packs of paper are no longer in stock, and I can either cancel my order or choose a 4 pack.

Here’s an idea Dell, send me two 4 packs you effing knobs. So typical Dell.

The BASTAAAAARRRRRRDDDDDSSSS…

Dear Customer,
Thank you for choosing Dell.
We’re unable to process your Dell Order [IRN Number:AU0000-xxxx-xxxxx] as the following part is no longer available:
Part 1: Dell (TM) Wasabi Photo Paper - 8 Pack (96 Sheets)

They are offering me the 48 sheet pack instead for a whopping saving of $7.10.
They clearly do have the 96 sheet packs in stock, so what should I do?

Tell them you see them have stock on website, just right on their website for $40, see what they say.

Do you think that you could ever take advantage of Dell ;D
(At least in Australia)
If the Dell.com.au price is too good to be true, Dell will never honor it.

stumo on 11/02/2010 - 08:59 ¶

I tried calling them, on hold for 10 minutes, then spoke to someone who transferred me (to the same department I already selected), and then I got cut off.

It isn’t worth the hassle, or the deal they are now offering. I have fired off an email, giving them the 2 obvious options, and will report them for bait ‘n switch if it doesn’t get resolved. Though I don’t think they give a sh1t judging by what I’ve seen online.

Nice one dell.

Also, its not really taking advantage, they were selling these with 96 sheets for the same price last year.

Gravatar

parta on 11/02/2010 - 10:04 ¶

I’ll try that myself today, calling them up and then reporting them for bait and switch if they fail to resolve it properly.

It took a long time for the sales person I talked to work out how to charge me the correct amount for the printer + 2 X 4 packs of paper, but I believe everything has been sorted out now. I used their online chat service in the sales area and she called me a few times.

Gravatar

stumo on 12/02/2010 - 22:48 ¶

Thanks, might have to give that chat thing a try on Monday, since there is no way I’m calling them after last time, and still no reply to my email yet.

I told the wife about it (the printers are for her), and she agrees not to go ahead just on principal, though she really does like the look/idea of the printer. So hopefully dell will come to the party, otherwise they have just lost 2 customers, for good.

Anyway, glad you got a result, and ta for letting us know.

stuff it, can’t win with dell, accept the discount as it, i bought 2 a blue one and pink one with the extra paper
we’ll see how it goes but nice little gadget to play around with.

Does Dell delivery via courier or by australia post?

Well I didn’t get through on Dells live chat either after a 1 hour wait, (this is to do with their BS about 96 sheets not in stock). So I just gave up as it was the last day of the 3 business day limit in their semi un-reply-able email (you either had to accept their lame offer or leave it).

So I replied to their email even though they said not to, I just said give me what I ordered because I can see you have the paper in stock.

I didn’t hear back so I though that was the end of it, and Dell was never getting my custom again.

But then today, out of the blue my 2 printers arrived, with 96 extra sheets each (4x48), plus the 12 sheets that come with each printer.

The print quality is abysmal (flat colours and missing lines), no wonder they are practically giving them away! They are perfect for spitting out sticker photos to give to the kids though, which is what I got them for, so I am happy. But I could have done without the agro. I will buy Dell again if they have a great deal on, but I will definitely think twice after their shoddy service.

Gravatar

itsross on 20/02/2010 - 13:23 ¶

Weird. I never responded to the email to choose the 48 pack or cancel my order, but got a cancellation email after several days (as I wanted).

I just checked my credit card statement, and there is a Dell charge for $33.50. I believe my invoice amount was $38 or so. They better not send me the 48 pack, especially seeing I changed my mind and didn’t even want this. I can’t see how they even have the right to charge my credit card, after the order had been cancelled. (The charge took place after they had confirmed my cancellation). Dodgy.

Hi everyone

I just got this printer and there was only 12papers included.
Web order page said “24sheets included price”

Have you got 24 or 12 with printer?

Gravatar

erwinsie on 24/02/2010 - 09:09 ¶

12papers incl i think on the web page says the same ??? not sure anyway i ordered also 48packs (since its cheaper that way) together, so enuf paper atm…

Mnke on 24/02/2010 - 15:33 ¶

12sheets came with mine plus the 48sheets i ordered, but they expire in march “use by 03/2010”. Guess thats why they are so cheap.

Just got my visa bill and the idiots have charged me twice!

I suggest everyone who ordered double check their bill when it arrives.

Just spent 10 minutes on hold with Dell again, so I’m just going to go direct to visa on this.

Gravatar

prankster on 07/04/2010 - 11:12 ¶

so i ordered a blue and pink, they sent me 2 black printers
been chasing up with dell for at least 3 weeks now to send me the right printers
been calling them up everyday, they said they did a mistake in the ordering, will take longer
fluck them
then said they were sending it, i call them today and they said all the blue not avialable only pink and black
how great are they, i have to waste my time chasing up with dell so i’m sick of dell, i’m telling them to send the 2 pink ones instead

they may have good products but i’m sick of speaking to indian consultants making me run around like a chook so never again will i buy a dell product from them
