LG Urbane W150 $336 at Telstra (25% off)

70

I was in the market for an Android Wear watch and saw bez-54's post (25% wearable from Telstra) the other day. However, there was only Samsung Gear S2 (Tizen powered) available. This morning, I found LG Urbane for $336 was listed on the page and was tagged as "new", but there was no "Buy now" button on the page. So I called Telstra to ask how to order it and the operator told me he can't see the watch on the page. When I refresh the page, the LG watch is disappeared. The operator suggested me to call local stores to check for the stock and price, so I did. The staff in Telstra Store in Melbourne CBD confirmed they have plenty in stock and the price is $336, I got my one during the lunch break.

When I got back to the office, I managed to find the link to the watch and the "Buy now" button appeared after I refreshed the page a few times. DWI is selling this watch for $329, but considers it is local stock and comes with 2 years local warranty, it is worth paying $7 more.

Edit: It seems no matter how many times I refresh the page, the "Buy Now" button won't show anymore. Please use this link to order https://onlineshop.telstra.com.au/prepaid-mobile/checkout/buy/lg_urbane

  • I've got my broadband and phone with Telstra for a few years now. Anyone ever get a better deal from them for being a regular customer?

    Fat chance most likely.

Yes, they gave me $20 off my cable connection plus a free speed boost. Recently, they doubled the allowance from 500G to 1TB for me for free as well.

      • I meant better deal for a product like the watch and not necessarily broadband/phone. I've gotten? the double cap but think that was given to everyone. Haven't gotten the $20 off. Might see if they can cut a deal with that too.

        • They don't give discounts for outright products I think. When I bought my Tab S from them, I did ask for discount. They said they can give me 50% off their overpriced after market accessories…

      • Yeah i negotiated a $20 discount as well and increase from 200gb to 500gb per month. Took an hour of my life to get it though.

I wanted to get the Urbane 2 with LTE.. but they've pulled it from the market for "unknown reasons".. :( hmmm..

    • I'm in the same boat, was waiting for them to release in Australia. But now, I don't think they will ever launch in the market again

It was an issue with the screen. Google it, LG announce the reason yesterday.

      • They said it was meant to be a "new part" that they introduced. I thought it was more the LTE part since one would assume that the screen would be the same as the Urbane 1..
