HTC Touch Pro & Diamond $0 on 29 Cap and $50 Credit

240

3 mobile now have the HTC touch pro and diamond on the 29 cap for free and $50 credit.

I would say they are getting rid of remaining stock so if you want it, get in fast.

I believe you can get this deal in store (as of today), however you wont get the $50 credit.

I'm personally not a big fan of this phone however this is still cheap.

  • Direct link won't work however just select htc in the brand section to see the phones. Very good price except i just recently bought a phone. HTC magic is a good deal as well

  • Which phone is better?

    • depends on your perference

physical qwerty keyboard or full touch screen

  • the phones are virtually the same in terms of software, except the pro has a slide out keyboard (which makes it twice as fat as the diamond) and the diamond is purely touch only.

  • I think three has the samsung jet free on the $29 cap.

    http://store.three.com.au/mobile-details/Samsung-Jet

should check that one out. Its got quite good reviews, better than the htc.

    • Out of stock already…

    • but it is not Windows OS, and so much less applications than HTC

  • really hoping three would reveal some good new phones & plans such as the $39 Blackberry with 3GB data :-(

  • Would prefer an Android but none the less a good deal

    • There is the HTC Magic on 29 cap. But that's pretty old a phone now. Unless you decide to root it, put a custom ROM on it and overclock the CPU, Magic/Dream/Hero are generally sluggish in performance. I suggest to all Android lovers to get Nexus One imported somehow. Maybe from your friends in the US or UK or even Singapore.

Because 500 USD is around 550 AUD. That's not that much considering that other smartphones cost nearly 800-900 dollars but do not have the same great specs that Nexus One does. The HTC Desire or the Nexus One will definitely be the best Android phone to aim for.

  • I'd suggest removing the word "free" from the title - perhaps "$0 upfront"!

  • the diamond I would not recommend, and if the TP has similar hardware then that as well. I love Windows mobile, big fan, but the diamond is not very responsive, especially not if you want to use a 6.5 rom.

Both are great ideas however the lag in touchflo is annoying, personally get the magic rather than these, however android as good as it is, I don't believe it matches Windows mobile.

I have a diamond and use a 6.5 rom without any lag. The only lag I find is the slight gps lag. If you don't like touchflo turn it off and use SPB Mobile Suite. I wouldn't recommend the diamond if you send a lot of txt / email as the small screen can get a bit tedious but apart from that its great especially for the size.

      • what rom do u use mate?

          • @No: is that a 6.1 rom or 6.5 rom? I used another 6.5 rom from xda. much better than the stock rom. but not as great either

            • @dy4me: Sorry you are right, that is 6.1.

              • @No: yes 6.1 but even this one (yozgatg's) had lag (probably due to sense) on a diamond that I used it on. I'm not a big fan of the diamond after using it, personally i find my magician smoother (albeit using manila 2d).

I am a big htc fan and love winmo though and believe that there is no better combo.

    • I love my Diamond - runs great on a custom rom!
Not sure what rom I'm using but most are pretty good, depends on what you want.

you can have the diamond for around $200-$300 new. dont think its that much of a good deal if you compare it with the vodafone xpressmusic deal few month ago.

    • How can you get it for around $200-300? eBay?

      • +1

HT did have it for $99 (ex-demo, one in stock) I was beaten to it though, before it went to that price they had it around $300 for a while.

    • +2

next time you claim a price like that, please state the source. otherwise you're not helping anyone make their decision. in fact you're confusing them.

Saw it from a HK mobile retail site the other day cant be stuffed finding it again. you can buy one locally for $350 http://buymart.com.au/index.php?main_page=product_info&produ… the Touch Diamond 2 is around $460 new. what makes you think this superseded phone is worth anything more?

        • on first reply you said 200-300, when others ask you where you can get for that price, you start increase the price for $350..hm.. it is $150 diff

  • +1

Don't forget you can use 100special as the coupon code to increase that $50 credit to $100.

  • you cant get them for 200-300 on ebay, I dont understand why everyone is excited about android.

I`ve used it and its not that good, kinda annoying really. No better than anything else…any of the phones using it now…dont work so great, ir andriod 1, and some cheap no name phones off ebay….$150 will get you one.

  • +1

Hm… good deal, but it comes with Three provider…not so sure about that…

  • The 3 website says international calls are included in the cap amount, can anyone confirm this?

    Thanks.

    • yes they are. up to $100 on the new caps

  • I recommend using the phone physically. The Touch screen is nothing like an iphone… it's made to be used with a stylus. Also. You can get an Android OS for this phone, it's in beta at the moment so there are some bugs. But eventually they'll get it right. In my opinion Android feel's much nicer to use than windows os. Just my opinion though.
Watch out for 3 for roaming internet, it tends to drop out alot, even in the middle of sydney cbd. Not great when you're a freelancer.

  • @jashjash I`m guessing if the 3 website says this….That is confirmation!

  • hey guys the diamond doesn't have a microSD card slot like the touch pro does it?

    • no it does not, however the diamond comes with 4gb internal memory and the touch pro doesn't

  • Don't get one,
they have to be the worst phone i have ever used .
our company have 10 diamonds and they refuse to use them, and i work for an isp

android works ok on them but is still in beta
