This Sony 60" sold for $998 during Dec. 2014. So maybe wait to see that sort of price again..

    • You're thinking off the 2014 model, this is the 2015 model all those 2014's sold out

      • How come they both have exact same model number? Is it possible to have same model number for two different models?

        • I agree with you pash81, the model number indicates its last years stock, which sold for sub $1k

        • No idea m8 but it's not the old model, they are new stock with a RRP of 2099

        • @pash81: click the model num and look at the latest pricing, $1488 was the previous cheapest

        • What i am saying is that the model which good guys is selling now for $1388 is KDL60W600B and the same exact model, KDL60W600B sold for $998 last december.

          Am i missing something here?

        • @pash81:

There was a price rise for Sony TVs RRP of about 15% or 20% (I can't remember), due to the USD. Every company has done this, which why you may have found prices more expensive all of a sudden.

        • @pash81: Gone now so we can all stop talking bout it

          @pash81:

          Pash81, I understand.

2014 60 inch model sold for $998 in DEC 2014

2015 42 inch Model selling for $809 in Dec 2015.

Not as good of a bargain.

          I'm holding out for a good 55 - 60 inch sub $1k.

      • Might be an idea to put the model number for the 60 inch

  • a good deal, but with stocktake in two weeks time I think it is best to wait.
Unless you need something under the tree, I suspect these prices will be a bit lower shortly.

  • I'm sure will be <$1,000 come boxing day

  • +1

I always find boxing day underwhelming. Everyone just thinks the deals are good and just buy, buy buy, so retailers get away with offering mediocre deals at best

hoping for 65" UHD for >$2000

    • +4

      For more than $2k?

  • The quality and spec of w700c is not as good as w800c.
    50hz + no motion vs 100hz + motion technology

    • course it's a later model but you pay over $350 more for it and it's only 2" bigger, also this one does have motionflow but as you said it's not 100hz

      • Sony said w700 has motionflow, but it doesnt have it.
I have tested it, there is no on/off setting for motionflow.
Correct me, if i am wrong.

        • I just go by specs but really hz is over rated unless you want 4k I have a 100hz and a 50hz tv and notice no difference between the 2 playing online gaming, sport or streaming movies although they are both samsungs so that might be why. Is there even a setting I thought it would just apply, If you type in sony kd48w700c in google every place that sells it says motionflow

        • @TRENT86:
Some people can notice the difference between 50hz and 100hz while some people cant.

          Sorry for that.
I know that sony mention w700c has motionflow technology.

But i have tested 40w700c and i dont think it has motionflow. I havent test 48” model.

        • @ak47992: Yeah I got no idea about that man

    • how does 100Hz of Sony comparing with 200Hz from LG (e.g. are they comparable)?

      • +1

It is compareable with refresh rate.
But becareful, they just rename “refresh rate”
        E.g.
Sony Motionflow XR 200 = refresh rate 50hz

Sony motionflow XR 800 = refresh rate 100Hz
        Samsung 200CMR = refresh rate 50hz
        Samsung 1000CMR = refresh rate 100Hz
        Panansonic 100BLS = refresh rate 50hz
        Panasonic 1200BLS = refresh rate 100hz

They just rename the standard“refresh rate” and exaggerate the spec of their TVs.
