Its $599 at Bing Lee and JB, 549 at HN. $395 TGG.

  • don't forget cashrewards!

    • How to get cashrewards? Thanks.

  • On ebay it keeps saying
"Operation timed out, please try again in a few minutes."
When I try to change shipping to local pickup

    Thanks great deal OP,

I wasn't not able to choose store to pickup, I have finally placed an order for delivery and messaged them to cancel the delivery and change it to pickup if possible and refund the delivery fee.

    Let's see what they do..

  • Can any OZBers sound off on its performance if they own this device. Just trying to justify its price.

I picked it up at Harvey Norman last year for $379 priced matched to JB with a $50 amex cash back (so $329 all up).

Its the best vacuum I've ever used but previous to that I've only used cheapies. Overall I'm happy with the purchase.

    • I had DC37 Allergy Parquet. It's suction is good, if that's your only consideration.

My gripe, and the reason I got rid of both my dysons, is that their dust bowl is too small and you'll be emptying it frequently. The process of doing this is also messy in my experience. In the space of time between inserting a new bag and disposing of it in a bagged vac, you will have emptied that dyson maybe 50 times in my estimation.

  • Ugh! I was about to pull the trigger on this and went to purchase and it advised that they had no stock in their only ACT store. Im not gambling on them providing one from another store.

Pity I wanted one of these..

  • nooooooo! out of stock

    • Try again, it is now on special order, if the store is out of stock they will order it in for you. Can take a week or so to come in so you may not receive it before Xmas.

  • Cheers all. Don't really trust review site but feedback from fellow OzBers is invaluable.

  • We own three dysons, and love them.

  • better to get a powerhead (spinning brush head) sucks up so much more

    • Good for carpets, not so good for hardwood floors.

  • Our cheap vacuum needed a new filter which costs $26 (the whole thing was $50). So we're looking for a new vacuum now. Not sure if we should get the cheapest replacement (there's one at woolies for $60 called onix or something) or should we get this?

Are there any consumables such as filters? Are they expensive?

    • apart from plastic build, i feel like i can break the dust collect bin easily.

its the best vacuum i have used compare to sanyo, electlux.

      nothing need to be replaced.

    • The filter is washable, so not a consumable.

      And there's no bags.

Your vacuum looks like a printer/toner pricing model. Cheap to buy, but running costs quickly exceed the cost of a new vac, and now you want to dispose of it because it's cheap to do so, at the expense of the environment.

I don't think any vac sold at Woolies is going to be very good. Spend some real money.

FYI the 10% off codes from Dec 3 still working at self serve checkouts https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/222733

  • How does this compare with the DC54 Animal??

    • DC54 is based on twin cyclone engine. It's better.

I haven't used a DC54 but I had a DC59 which was also twin cyclone, and I was very impressed with its suction. But as I said in an above comment, the small dust bowl was a deal breaker. In the barrel vacs, you do get a bigger bowl, but not much bigger. It will still fill up quick unless your carpets are already quite clean because you do it often.

  • Has anyone tried price matching at DJ or Myer?

    • nevermind, called DJ - can't price match online deals, Myer can't do it either because it's below their cost price.

  • Wow thank you so much I just came across this with a Google search looking for the best price on this vac. I clicked on the lick and ordered it for local pick up then put in the code in coupons and bam $339. Thought I better sign up to site after that saving.

  • even better with 5% cash rewards now

    • How to get 5% cash rewards?

      • Just sign up for it.

        • Many thanks.

  • Stock seems to have been replenished (was not available last night for click & collect)

    Great find, thanks OP!

    • It has been switched to Special Order:
SPECIAL ORDER items may need to be ordered in. We will contact you regarding pick-up

  • This price, this technology, and they put the exhaust facing downward! Worst design ever for a vacuum. The exhaust is powerful on any vacuum and on this one it ends up lifting all the dust up in the air. Very bad. Returned immediately.

  • I haven't had any contact from Masters since putting the order in mid December. Regretting not putting the order through with Bing Lee. After looking at Masters' ebay stats I thought they wouldn't be too bad but guess I was wrong.
