      mate its not.

      • I just checked a bottle, it is unfortunately. But my wife still drinks it and shes japanese

      • Look at the link…mate

        • This one is brewed in china. Cans 500ml brewed in japan. Took up that deal from ozb the other day and staff accidentally gave me 330ml bottles instead.

        • The link says Thailand brewed when you view the beer label

        • +1

Mate, I dont have to look at the link, I bought from Dan Murphy's about 3 weeks ago and I have the bottle sitting in front of my face. Unless they have changed within these weeks, I'm going to be a sour puss and say its Brewed from China

        • @cornbeef:

There's sufficient demand (200k+ Japanese expats) in Bangkok alone to warrant production in Thailand. I've had the Thai stuff, it's not that bad, I trust it infinitely more than any consumable coming from the PRC.

        • @Sir Casm: agreed Thai Asahi is better than the China stuff. But the UK brew is probably the best outside of Japan.

    • It's really popular, though

  • How did you get free delivery?

    • My bad sorry ..click and collect.

Asahi - if it's in glass, give it the arse

  • Not the cheapest, was $39.95 at DM's a few weeks back.

    • My apologies..I thought we might get free delivery but I read it wrong.

  • DM sourced Asahi 330ml bottles at our party yesterday were made in China.

I recall Asahi being made in Melbourne. Is this still the case or is all bottled Asahi now coming from China and Thailand?

Being made in China didn't put many (well only a few) off the beer.

  • The Asahi I have bought in the past was brewed in Canada and they were 500ml cans

I bought a case a few weeks ago, it was from china… it was very very average. kind of like comparing the Australian brewed under license Peroni Nastro and Heineken… The Thai brewed bottles used to be the norm here but apparently not any more. I love asahi but my last case was crap and I wont touch it unles it is the Jap brewed now!

    • Yup.same here. Its like drinking a different beer. The last case from thailand i ended up donating to my garbage collection guys for xmas.

      • They probably know you as "that guy with shit beer" lol :/
Not a good nickname to have !!

Its the thought that counts tho lol

  • No thanks…I only want the actual one brewed in Japan the others brewed outside of Japan just don't cut the mustard.
