    Tell 'em the price, son!

    • Must be FREE!

  • ?? Price difference of $200?

    • Nah! It's actually showing $397. It would be better if HN informs people who ordered their deal whether they have enough stock or not before this one expires. It would suck to realize they don't have enough stock after this one expires.

Call them up. I went in store before the pick up email and found out they had no stock. Called up the online team and they sorted it out straight away for me to collect from another store even putting the phone on hold while she transferred my order. Annoying there was no stock when i ordered but at least they fixed the problem.

        • It's past 5pm here now so if I don't receive email from them by midday tomorrow (not sure if they're open tomorrow) then I'll do just that. Thanks for that useful info, buddy.

        • @AussieDaddy: I still got no word on mine

        • @AMLagonda: I got their open days during the Christmas season mixed up. My local store, the one I chose to pick from, was closed today but will be open tomorrow. We'll see tomorrow if the order is ready for pickup or not.

        • @AussieDaddy: no worries, i hope it works out well for you :) if not the number to call is 02 9763 6891

        • @lkp: Thanks, mate. I really appreciate that number, in case I don't hear from them tomorrow (well, today, as it's technically Sunday morning now). :)

@AussieDaddy: not a problem worth sorting out asap in my opinion :)

        • @lkp: Absolutely, mate. Thanks

        • @lkp: Received the pickup email little bit after 8 this morning and I've just picked it up. All good, matey. :)

@AussieDaddy: Awesome! Glad to hear it all worked out :)

        • @lkp: It did. Thanks

  • Is this in store price only?

    • No it appears you have the option to click and collect or deliver to your door.

      • Website still shows full price

  • Can someone explain the attraction of this phone when something like a OnePlus X exists with slightly better specs for almost $100 less?
Are the biggest advantages (a)Aussie Stock and (b)better camera?

    • Waterproof..
      Local warranty..

      • i was thinking the same thing. My Nexus 4 has literally just died and I keep coming back to these S5 deals, but not sure about a phone almost 2 years since launch still being $400 (without the welcome credit and amex offer). All i want it is a phone that has a decent camera, decent battery, preferrably sd card but not essential and that works well with optus 4g…

        • Well its not ideal but this is the reality, unless you go smaller brand, less specs, or second hand devices, expect to pay $400 for lg huawei Samsung Sony apple etc (so this with Amex is good you can tell by how many people buying).
Don't buy galaxy a series, camera isn't good.

        • To be honest, it's not at bargain at $400. I bought it for $322 after all reductions and I guess for that price, it is at bargain. Much better than many Chinese brands that may be available for slightly cheaper.

        • @virhlpool: Care to clarify your last sentence?

        • @datzed: I meant that even though S5 might be slightly more expensive than heaps of Chinese brand phones with comparable specs, Samsung is any day more reliable. Hence, it's a great deal.

        • @datzed: agree with virh. Unless you go with top range Chinese phone, Sammy still better. Specs is just on paper.

        • @virhlpool:

How'd you get it down to $322.

I want to buy two of them (upgrading from S3's!!!)

          cheers

        • @cactus68:

$25 off with HN starter email subscription
          +
          $50 off Amex cashback offer.

        • @virhlpool:

          Cheers

          Noob here!

What's the HN starter email subscription?

          Don't have a Amex card!

          OK just googled…DOH
          HarveyNorman OK got it!

        • @cactus68:

You need to read this post from title - line by line. Things are explained there along with the weblink.

        • @virhlpool:

Yep have done that. Line for line!
It's all about buying from OW and not HN yes.
I have two S5's in my cart and can click & collect from my local OW.

So how do I get to apply a HN $25 email subscription discount through OW.
Price match yes? But for that I would need to go instore and deal with a salesperson etc etc.

        • @cactus68:

Thanks. You can use $25 voucher only once per email id though.

    • Better Wifi
      Finger Print Scanner

  • But no Amex $50 and welcome code $25 at office works…

    • Not much good to you if they don't have stock !

$400 for a phone that is old technology, when they sold the S3 3 months after the S4 came out, at under $200 ?
    Tell them they're dreaming Son.

Stuff them, they can sit on old depreciating stock and discover just as Dick did, that we will not pay ridiculous pricing for old technology and force them to liquidate it to clear stock.

I'll wait for the Sony Erricson to come out at that price!

    • Why $400? I got one for $322.

just sold my second hand gs5 for 350 i thought i sold it pretty cheap.

this is a great phone. probably all you could want out of android performance wise. ticks all the right boxes. build quality is a bit meh - but waterproofing and the features more then makes up for it. i use most of my phones in cases so i dont feel as though i was affected much.

    • Which one is gs5 model, mate? If you are referring to Samsung S5, then what I don't like about it is 2GB RAM. 3GB RAM is a norm with the most new phones now.

  • Cant compare a chinese phone to the battery life of the s5…

    • Not even OnePlus or Oppo?

      • Depends which model and price range mate. If you comparing with $500 oppo maybe oppo better. This is $322.

Any codes for officeworks to get a bit of discount?

  • +1

Both dickie and JB refused to price match, usual manager bull crap, below their cost, can't do it, sorry … Saved me $397 and will wait for next deal, or should i just get a Lenovo K3 note for around $200 instead, I just need a bigger screen to watch videos while on train and whatsapp, phone calls, nothing else.

  • Too slow here. Missed out! Sigh.
