Company lost my RMA HDD, now ignoring emails.

So last year i bought a nas and 4 hdds from this one company in Sydney, and recently one of the hdd had developed bad sectors.

So i emailed the company where i got the hdd from, all good, told to send the hdd for rma.

So i emailed back saying, please send the hdd back to me to a different address since i don't live in the old address.

Got an email back saying all good, rma department has been notified.

So a couple of weeks past (this was in early October), heard nothing, so emailed them back asking for updates.

Got a reply saying that the hdd had been sent to my old address and it has been received by someone whose name i dont recognised.

So a few emails has been sent forth and back, and they offered me free delivery on my next purchase as a compensation!!!

I refused, and asked to either refund my money or resend the hdd.

And i heard nothing back from them ever since.

Even contacted the company's rep here and nothing…

So it's been almost 3 months since i sent my hdd back to them.

My next move would be contacting ACCC, but before i do, any recommendation?

      Make a complaint?

      • what would you complain about and what do you think the accc can do to help you?

i'm running out of options, and just want my HDD back!

Been emailing them, and received nothing back.

I will name them here if I have to, but that's my last resort.

          Suggestions?

give the rep a link to this thread and give them 24hr to address the issue or you'll name them.

        • @whooah1979:

this is something that i hope to avoid.

I'm not really into name and shame, but looks like i might have to.

Why don't you go to your old address and collect the parcel from the new home owner as it's addressed in your name?

  • Free delivery on the next purchase…These guys are a joke…

Have you been back to your old address and knocked on the door? Ask for the name of the person who signed for it. Let them know you are happy to report it to police as a theft.

You could always take the company to small claims.

    • Went to ask to see the person that signed the package, they said never heard of that name.

  • Push the company at fault even more. Call other departments or just make sure more than one person knows about this happening. Someone has stuffed up there and so far it's all gone under the radar. You may find with persistence, a reasonable outcome will appear.

You wouldn't believe how quckly these things can appear in the CEOs inbox when a customer is persistent.

    • I have, and have dealt with multiple people with same results.

  • Seriously though, I don't mean to hijack the thread but in cases like this is there anyone to help you? It seems to me that @Nutrino sort of lead to the fact that the ACCC won't do much? Is this actually the case? If a company stuffs up are we simply just stuffed?

  • name and shame.
they refuse to help so its time to take things to the next level.

    • I will if they keep ignoring my emails and PM here.

  • Update: they finally decided to re-send me a new one, after more than 3 months!
Not happy with their service, but at least I get my HDD back.

If only they resolve this problem earlier, too bad they now just lost a customer.
