Suggest me a cost effective VPN

Hi guys, as the name suggests anyone know of any good VPNs or good deals for a VPN for Aus.

I was hoping for one with a "good" reputation for anonymity and won't just hand over my details automatically (otherwise there's not really much point in the VPN) was also hoping for a good price and speed.

Not expecting to use it for much (not going to be on my typical browser), its more that I'm paranoid and liking the idea of at least having some sort of anonymity especially for downloading things.

  Thanks mate, anyone wanting to confirm this also? Searching the internet this seems to come up a lot, seems to be a lot of good recommendations but I see a few unhappy comments. I don't see a monthly or a free version to test out, so if I get it, I'll likely have to jump to the yearly or 24 months for money reasons.
