Pretty much normal price now, still a bargain though.
Does it still come with 5gb data on new activations?

It's a nice little phone. Got a couple on an earlier deal.

Yes, locked. Unlocked them both successfully using dc-unlocker for 7 euros each I think from memory for those interested. I needed mine for Aldimobile. I had tried earlier a few ebayers advertising they could unlock it but they couldn't.

    • whats the battery life like?

      • Good as most "dumb" phones tend to be. Last's a week+ on phoning texting off and on.

        • thanks, just wanted to confirm. last candy bar phone I bought was a nokia that barely lasted a day :(
I is a dumb phone with simple internet access and colour screen that looked similar to the pictures for this phone.

I've unlocked 2 of these successfully from this ebay seller, for $3.19 USD
      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/291444159305?_trksid=p2057872.m27…

That's a heck lot cheaper than 7 Euros.

      • Glad it worked cheaper for you.

I tried two reputable ebayers advertising they could unlock this specific telstra branded zte t126. Both came back and said they couldn't. "Not in the database" both said.

So tried the dc-unlocker software and worked. Mentioning this only if others require it.

FWIW: I prefer this method of unlocking (direct connection to pc and unlocking directly via software.)

Which ones advertised it and couldn't do it? :\

Exact same as I am doing, just letting others know this can be unlocked for under $4.50AUD . People yell "Bagman" everywhere but I'm fairly sure he's just a middleman.

FWIW: I prefer this method of unlocking (direct connection to pc and unlocking directly via software.)

FWIW: I prefer the code unlock method because it's exactly the same method as you would do it if done through carrier unlocking (after paying the massive fee)

        • @cwongtech:

fonecarecodes was one that couldn't unlock it. High feedback etc. Sale was reversed fast by him. Then tried a "local" that specifically mentioned this model as well. sjkp**1. Little feedback but fast in cancelling order when he couldn't do it.

That's when I gave up on the ebayers and went to dc-unlocker :)

          Understood.
Thanks for stating it so future OzB members know who to avoid for unlocking their ZTE T126 phones :)

        • @redcreek200:

Got the phone yesterday at H N's. Sent my IMEI to sjkp**1 on Ebay message. He answered all ok with my IMEI - payed $6.49 and code came through.
All ok and cheap phone unlocked.
I guess it depends on IMEI's…

        • @leighzac:

Out of curiousity, what's your imei like?
Specifically, what's the 2 digits of your imei where the "27"'s position is in the imei sequence: 8639 x702 27xx xxx

        • @cwongtech:

          Batch SK014361
          EXP 30 SEP 2017
          8639 x702 195xxxx

Must just be some are ok to unlock easily and some aren't dependent on floor stock age/batch number.

      • I successfully unlocked two ZTE-F286's using the following (free) service. Those who buy this one should have a look:

Those who buy this one should have a look

It won't work, that calculator gives 12 digit codes, the one that the ZTE T126 requires is a 16 digit code :(

      • Hi cwongtech,

when did you buy your telstra cruise? I think the new badges from oct/nov is not easily unlockable, i tried bigw/dse telstra cruise (bought in dec) with various ebay sellers including bagman, but they couldnt unlock, may be you got older stock?

I will try with the seller you suggested anyway

        • I bought mine (one from big w, one from dse) around oct/nov but suspect stock is older. They have sim expiry in march 2017 and april 2017.

        • @cwongtech:

I just visited your link and ebay reminded i already bought from this seller on dec 4th (and refunded by this seller on same day because he cant unlock) :-)

My IMEI is like : 8639 x702 27xx xxx - your phone imei may be much older.

        • @rasun81:
          Mine are
          8639 x702 11xx xxx
          and
          8639 x702 12xx xxx

          Damn :(
Didn't know newer Telstra Cruises would be harder to unlock…
What did you send in the message to the seller when you bought the unlock code?

        • @rasun81:
          Use dc-unlocker @rasun - nothing to lose.

Download software to pc. Connect fone to PC as usb device. Run software and scan for fone. If software sees fone, it CAN be unlocked. Way I did it for 2 of these phones. You then can buy "credits" that unlock extra features of the software to unlock.

All instructions on their website. faq is where I found most instructions.

        • @cwongtech:

standard message of IMEI/telstra - but all they need is IMEI and they couldnt find this.

Anyway, thanks, so if IMEI is 11 or 12 series, it may work with ebay.

          @redcreek200:

thanks, yes, I checked the dcunlocker earlier, it detected the phone and needs the 7 euro credit, but at this time, i dont need urgent unlock as this is spare phone and my sim is already with telstra . I see a facebook page for dcunlocker which supposed to give 4 credits - https://www.facebook.com/DCUnlocker/app/248576321968152/ - but it is not working correctly for me.

    Great description.

  • not 4G?

  • +2

    Thanks. Perfect for mum :)

  • Will Telstra locked phones work on Boost?

  • Any good deal on 4G modems? My Telstra 4G stick ZTE died after struggling to accept a micro sim in a sim holder…it didn't like the thickness!
