Sony 65 FHD TV (Not UHD) - KDL65W850C - $1999 (+ $65 Metro Delivery) @ Myer

50

Not sure how good a deal this is - it's $1,999 compared to RRP of $2,999. It has been cheaper previously (as low as $1,840), but this is the best I can see available at the moment.

First time submitter - so apologies if I have not provided enough detail.

You will want to be sitting at least 9 feet away from the screen if you go ahead with this purchase

Can we talk in metres please? This is OZ Bargain after all.

        2.7M.. but that's rubbish..

I sit 3M away from a 92" screen and its perfect

          I think 2.5 - 3m for 65 inch screen is ok.

        • Each to their own, the science and justification is there for you to read and agree/disagree with in the link. I am sitting 213cm away from my 55inch 1080p panel and I can notice some pixelation and about a metre from a 27inch 4k panel

        Distance: 9.1 feet - 2.77 m for your convenience
I do think that is an unfair statement as we do plenty of things in inches and feet…for example the size of television screens

      Refurbished though.

And would never buy from Grays, based on past experience.

    FYI …. LG 200hz 65" 4k is $1900 @ Costco

    • Thanks for the info. Do you know if it is this model? http://www.lg.com/au/tvs/lg-65UF850T

BE WARNED: THE 65UF850T HAS AN IPS PANEL WHICH ARE KNOWN TO BLEED WHEN REPLICATING BLACKS

I purchased this model and while the picture is fantastic during the day, the backlight bleeds through the corners at night.

I am currently waiting for it to be assessed to see if it is a defect. (I doubt it is a defect, as I have read MANY poor reviews. Please do your research before purchasing. http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/uf6800)

Here is a few photos of my television at night, http://imgur.com/a/b8wzx

        • Awesome picture of a couple sitting next to a Christmas tree taking photos :-)

        • Thanks for the warning. Good luck with your investigation! That is some pretty terrible bleed through; I wouldn't accept that.

        • The UF680T also cheats in sub pixels. It uses RGBW for sub pixels therefore it's not a true 4K panel. Done a fair bit of comparison and went for the 65X8500c instead.

    • Shiny, which store had this, and do you know the model number?

      • It was at Costco Moorabin VIC and i visited there last Tuesday

    • Thanks Shiny for sending me the pic.

      It's a 60" LG UF770T. Wish it's a 65 incher and I shall cancel my Sony KD65X8500c from eBay :p.

    • Sorry everyone, i just posted the comment on my friend's words. Tv at costco was 60" for $1979.
