$10 off $25 Order @ FishPond - REWARDFISH

160
REWARDFISH

Per the description. This one's better than the last voucher since the other one requires $40 minimum spend. However, because of shipping this really works out to be $4 off… still better than a kick up the bum!

N.B. for new customers only (thanks kearnsy)

  • I dont understand the point of these coupons that can be used multiple times.

Why not just mark down the price of their stuff?

      1. cause not everyone see's this coupon
discount on all means everyuone gets it

      2. if you can buy 100 $25 dollar items then u will gain, however if the item is over 25, means the discount is less and less

      • My point is why not give a discount on all their items? Whats the point of excluding some people who dont know about it? Sure it might cost less but does it really help bring new customers to their site?

In general i prefer shopping at stores that have low prices and non of this coupon/affiliate gimmick.

        • Dude, not everyone needs a discount of every single item in the store. Your statement makes no sense from the store's point of view nor from the customer's point of view. The discount/voucher would make a difference in the price of an item that customers cannot find cheaper in other stores and the logic as to discounting all their items makes no sense from the store's point of view because why would they do that? They're not philanthropists they're business people.

hotmustardsauce: It sounds like you're a seasoned shopper and Internet user. Businesses that offer coupons do so for many reasons - getting people to come to the store, getting people to try it out and see that it's not very hard, overcoming people's suspicions of their legitimacy, etc. etc. The business is willing to wear a loss to overcome some or all of these issues. They don't have unlimited budget, which is why these things are targeted.

Obviously you do not fall into any of the above categories, so it's very simple: this is not for you.

I get what you're trying to say though, but at the end of the day this is a deal that people can benefit from. Please try not to criticise just because it's not a good deal specifically for you. I'm sure 99% of the other deals on OzBargain don't apply to you either - you'd break your keyboard if you commented on everything that doesn't meet your standard! :-)

Sorry but how is this different from a sale? Why cant you offer a sale on certain items that people want or on all items? Why go through the mechanics of a coupon?

I'm not putting down this deal. Its great, im just saying why not have the $10 apply automatically to each order rather than excluding uninformed customers

@hotmustardsauce: Because you can't target customers. Marketing people love metrics. The deal probably went down like this:

Rewards Central: "We have a mailing list of 500,000 and a typical conversion rate of 1%"
Fishpond: "Great, so that means this will only cost us $5,000. Our internal data says that once a customer makes their first purchase, 25% of them will go on to make another purchase."
              Etc.

They probably won't factor in disruptive "Social Media" functions like people posting it on OzBargain, because companies are still largely unaware, or don't know how to deal with Social Media.

Now if you just reduced prices across the board by $10, the marketing team has absolutely no idea how much to budget, no guarantee that people will even notice (unless they spend money advertising the fact) and probably other information that Rewards Central would have provided to them about the demographics of their user base.

I could go on… but your problem is that you're only thinking about this from the customer side. Try and think like a marketer :-)

              • @zzyss: yep!
                its all about marketing
u look at this coupon and u think CRAZY 10 bucks off 25 bucks spent
                OMG thats like 30-40% off!
but with postage and the fact that u might buy an item thats 40-50 dollars
it means u wont have save much!

                all about marketing
like how coles have buy one get one free deals or buy something get something free
with the new labelling that has cost per 100 grams, making it easier to compare
they need things like this which stuff up the price comparison, so u can compare and ultimately buy a more expensive product!
