Looking for a good deal on any of these gyms, someone able to help me out?
Maybe through a referral or something?
Cheers.

Did you have to pay transfer fee?
Yeah i've been looking but it seems a lot of people have signed up to pretty bad plans.. like $80-90 a month.
@sagrules - No, the guy had about six months left on his membership so he was keen to get rid of it and agreed to pay the transfer fee. Some people split the fee or agree to wear it - I suppose it depends on how motivated the seller is.
@Catalystic - I just had a look - I think around $38 per fortnight is probably reasonable? My partner got his membership from eBay - a few people had won vouchers which you could redeem for a year's membership and were selling them online.
I met this club manager some years ago who gave my friends and I a really good deal (I subsequently moved, terminated my membership and came back and signed up again via gumtree guy). I'll try and get in touch with him - if he's still in the business and happy to offer you a good deal as a referral from me I'll send you a DM if you like?
Interesting - Yeah sure would appreciate that, But i hear that you have to go to your "home gym / one you sign up with"
For 3 months before you can go to another gym local to your area?
I'm on the central coast nsw.
@Catalystic: Oh right is that a new rule? He was the club manager of Knox City and I went to the city gyms - it was all done by email as I recall and I've definitely never been to Knox City.
Never mind! Sorry - Read it incorrectly - didn't know there was multiple membership types
only read "Home membership allows you to access your nominated Fitness First club (available in a few selected clubs only)."
All good suggestions above, I have a great Fitness First deal and at the moment am canceling in a couple of weeks. We are on Platinum with passport for $36 a fortnight, believe its as good as it gets now however we are just not using it.
If anyone is interested in transferring it PM me or reply and we could be able to sort something out especially if in Brisbane.
@Catalystic:
It's just one month actually for what its worth. That's at least for me in Melbourne
I signed up to Anytime Fitness with a friend about 2.5 years ago for $50 a month. Able to use any of the gyms however have heard that if you start using other gyms more than your "home" one, they will transfer your membership over to the gym you use the most and could end up paying more per month.
I'd like to find price around this.
If you can find someone living in your area who currently has a AF membership ask them to refer you and hopefully the manager will give you a similar price to them. They will also get $3 off their monthly membership fee for referring you.
Several years ago I asked my local AF whether a foundation membership would increase in price when it transferred over, and they said no. So I signed up as a foundation member at a new AF around 30 mins away from home, and after a month I just started using my local AF. After three months (or so) it transferred over at the same price (I pay $43 or so a month).
But yeah, they do mention there's a risk of your membership price going up by transferring.
Look for other gyms in the area, get prices, then ring up anytime and see if they can match or give a better deal.
I go to anytime fitness
i got 5 of my mates to sign up with me on a 12 month contract.
I pay $11.55 a week, but paid in full for a whole year so the lady gave me 1 month free (13 months).
2 months down the track i referred another friend adn got another month free. Essentially speaking, 14 months for the price of 12 at $11.55 per week paid in full.
I also had to pay one off fee of $59.95 for the NFC Entry key thing.
This was in Norwest (Blacktown region) of NSW
Hope that helps
I got my Fitness First membership off Gumtree - lots of people looking to transfer their membership over which means shorter contracts. If it's an old membership prices are generally lower. My deal is a pretty good one I think by current standards - I pay $36 a fortnight and I have access to all gyms, including the platinum ones.
