Speech control over any Android app

A long shot, but anyone know of an Android app that can give speech control to other apps? The 4 or 5 speech control apps I've tried seem to restrict you to preset tasks, like 'send email'.

For example, programming the phrase "next page" to simulate a touch on the 'next page' icon in a particular pdf reader.

Phone is rooted in case unrooted Android doesn't allow that interference between apps.

    Possibly Tasker?

      I've just been checking out Tasker and its autovoice plugin - at this stage it seems like one has to be at the Google Now launcher screen for commands to work.

      Found an app call Open Mic+ which allows voice commands to everywhere, not just at the launcher, however they've just chopped support for Tasker.

      Now trying Commandr which it's supposed to support.
