      I have a few PNY SD cards/USB drives, they're solid performers. But when it comes to reliability and support, Lexar is my choice hands down. Lexar costs a bit more. However, if something goes wrong, you get card replaced in no-time vs buying a new card. Recently have my PNY Turbo 128GB USB Drive play up. But it's out of warranty…

      TBH, I think the Lexar drive is smoother (easier to open/close). It's also a little shorter/slimmer, but a bit wider. The Lexar USB connector is plastic on the S35 - I don't like that. The PNY drive is much faster.

    Weird post since the first link goes to a flash drive and comments regarding food are up voted and I don't know why (link fixed now)

    The 128GB & 16GB versions of this card are rated at UHS-1, compared to the much faster UHS-3 rating of the 32GB and 62GB models. Most of the reviews you'll see on here with 5-star ratings showing 50-60MB/s write speeds are for the 32/64GB cards, but the 16/128GB cards are going to be a lot slower. They'll still hit 60MB/s "transfer" (READ) speeds as listed in the item description, but the WRITE speed is a much slower 15-20MB/s - about 1/3 the speed of the UHS-3 cards! And that's fine if you're just using it in a device like a phone or tablet, or a basic P&S camera. But if you're expecting lightning fast write speeds for something like RAW files with a DSLR, 4K video recording, etc, then look for another card which has at least a UHS-3 rating.

      Yeah the 64GB SD card I linked does appear to have much better reviews, but the 15-20mb/s of the 128GB isn't that bad if you don't want 4K recording i guess.

    Was considering buying the PNY 128GB microSD card, but Amazon 1 star comments talk about getting a 'write protect error' and a high failure rate :/ pretty cheap though so maybe worth it for many people

      Camelx3 shows that the 64GB USB's price fluctuates between USD $14.99-$17.99 before shipping, so today's price of USD $11.99 is the cheapest it has ever been by US$3.

          The moral of the story is that you really should pay attention to what you are buying when you look for a USB 3.0 stick. It is not a simple case of "you get what you pay for", because all USB 3.0 sticks are not equal in performance, and some USB 3.0 sticks are not any better than 2.0 sticks. If price is your primary selection criteria, then don't be surprised if you get a 3.0 stick that is not much better than a good USB 2.0 stick - and in fact, if price is really your only criteria, you can almost certainly get a better price/performance ratio in a USB 2.0 stick. But if you are willing to spend a bit more to get better performance, then you really need to look closer before you buy.

          @Makoto: The article is 2 years old. Price of memory sticks have fallen like all electronics do over time. As a result, there are cheap ones with reasonable performance out there (at least comparing to 2 years ago). At the very very least, USB 3.0 memory sticks are not as expensive as it used to be.

          Besides, it's saying USB 3.0 sticks can be worse than USB 2.0 stick in terms of performance/bang for the buck. It's not saying that all USB 3.0 are bad in terms of bang for the buck or anything like that.

          What is your point? You'd rather get a 128GB 5mb/s USB for $64 rather than a 64GB >100mb/s USB for $24?

          As oversimplified has said, when USB 3.0 was first released there were performance issues, but now in 2016 not many people use USB 2.0 anymore, as USB 3.0 has proved to be much more faster.

It, too, failed shortly after the warranty period expired. PNY has produced many, many good products; some of which I own and continue to enjoy. I'm afraid that I can't recommend this drive.

          Pros: Definitely super fast reads and writes. Got a great deal for it.

          Cons: Died after 6 months. It actually had some odd reading issues a month or so after I purchased and I contacted PNY to have it RMA'd, but it suddently started working again so I just left it at that. It finally acted up worse and barely got it to recognize after 10 minutes of fidgeting in any USB port I could find on two machines before it worked long enough to copy contents and recover my data.

          Cons: Fails miserably after a short time, only months in my case. I have owned multiple of the 128GB Turbos and they all fail 100%. Just one day stops and all data becomes unrecoverable. I would look elsewhere

    Bought it a year ago.
    Barely used it at all as I don't need that big USB (another Typical guilty feeling of OZB post-buy )

    They said that they currently changed the manufacturer which increase the bad batch twice as much

    My experience with this USB:

    Pros
    ~The data transfer speed is comparable to sandisk extreme , which is pretty good. (Benchmark Detail)[http://usb.userbenchmark.com/]

    Cons
    ~The glass part start to crack and I have to open it up.
    ~The USB flash was read as unrecognisable drive multiple times you have to keep unplug and plug it again until the PC/Laptop succeed in reading it
    - If your gadget succeed in reading the USB flash it will take for quite some time for the USB flash to be able to load all of it's file because the USB itself is 256gb (Pretty damn big size)

    almost forgot,

    The USB start to bend after the glass part start to crack.
    Be aware

    Don't get me wrong and start to call me scaremongering, I might be unlucky and got the bad batch .

    I'm planning to file a complaint now to the amazon but unable to do it because the refund policy already expired.
    Any idea how to do it?
    I know that here in OZ you can do it as we are protected by ACCC

      these are possibly the worst brand of USB sticks because almost all of them die within a few months

        I had the 64GB one for 2yrs and it died on me when I connected the usb header upside down on an old motherboard and fried the USB :(
