Samsung Galaxy S7 | S7 Edge

Pros over the S6

Faster cpu and gpu (Snapdragon 820 and Exynos 8890)
MicroSD Slot (up to 200GB)
IP68 certified - dust proof and water resistant over 1.5 meter and 30 minutes
Improved Camera(Low light, image quality, auto focus) Camera is 12 MP, f/1.7, phase detection autofocus, OIS, dual-LED (dual tone) flash with pixel size of 1.4 µm. New "Dual-pixel" sensor.
Bigger Battery (S7 3000mah | S7 Edge 3600mah)
4GB RAM
Fast battery charging: 83% in 30 min (Quick Charge 3.0)

Overall a pretty decent upgrade from the S6, especially for those who miss the Microsd slot. No USB-C. It did get slightly heavier and fatter. The S7 Edge's display is 5.5 in unlike the S7's 5.1 inch display.

I'm not sure if it's available in Australia but if you pre-order the phone you will get the Gear VR and 6 games(valued $150) for free. http://www.androidcentral.com/galaxy-s7-buyers-are-getting-f…

  • if its over 1100 dollar stuff that I thought it was meant to be 10% cheaper then s6 pre orders. but rumors are getting mixed up.

    • Australian dollar is different to a year ago.

AUD/USD was 0.79 this time last year. Expect a more expensive price tag.

      • oh so 100 dollars more? i dont see how that is fair at all

        • The dollar has dropped by 8-10 cents. It's fair.

It'll plunge below 70 cents soon if the banks are anything to go by.

  • -2

Yet another ploy for brainless numpties to fork over more hard-earned cash in exchange for a vibrating, glowing gizmo that you already have.

    • But there are a lot of upgrades in this phone. Apple made a bigger screen on their 6 and 6s with minor 'improvements' and got record profits.

      Who are the real morons?

    • I think you can get phones for much better value but the S7 looks to be an awesome phone. I have the S6 and if I do upgrade to this, I'm sure my usage would be almost exactly the same lol.

  • The new Galaxy S7 will be available to pre-order from this upcoming February 26, and will go on sale in Australia on March 11. You’ll pay an outright price of $1149 for the Galaxy S7, and $1249 for the S7 edge.

Also pre order from telstra and Vodafone (so far) from 12.01am AEDT Friday morning

  • Water resistant too I heard?

  • Telstra's blurb on the new phone. Says nothing about games or apps but VR gear is there.

Due for a new phone in May/June so one of these maybe the go if the price moves by then.

  • The microSD card shares the same slot with the second sim card slot. YOu have to choose between the two. :p

    • dual sim is useless nowaday, most of the time 2nd sim is voice only and use GSM so once telcos turn off 2g in 2 years it'd become useless

      • +1

It's not useless otherwise it wouldn't be in phones. Not everyone cares about having data in the second sim.

I use it all the time. One personal sim, one business sim. I expect that the 2nd slot will support 4G in the coming years.

        • 4g only supports data so your wish will probably take a while to be realised.

    • Why can't they make Dual SIM slots with MicroSD as well. True 4G SIM slots + Micro that's what I want to see

  • It's a great upgrade from S5, I however, won't be getting this but will wait for the Note 6.

  • I'm not sure if I should upgrade from an S4 to and S6/S7. I'm on a budget so S6 is definitely the better option but I do however want a 128GB which is pretty hard to find right now, for prices are 700 (normal) 800 (edge). Could anyone help me find an S6 for around those prices if not I'll probably have to go with the S7. Will also consider 64GB if its a good deal.
