  • Anybody has one? Hows the durability and comfortability?

    • I've only used mine once but its pretty comfy.

Are any of these any good, really? I have bought a few over the years, including an expensive Aerobed one. They all fail. They leak at the seams, they go down in the night-time (and not in a good way). I have now bought an Xped Megamat 10 Self-inflating mattress and it's expensive but super comfortable and been very durable so far.

  • Shonky retailer. Google them, or start here

  • I got one from Dealsdirect before they went into new ownership and it is solid. I left it inflated for 3 days and it barely lost any air, but the best thing is that it's no hassle to just plug in and re-inflate. I bought to have as a spare bed if need be and for when we go camping on the odd occasion. Was a steal for $39 imo

The reason why they 'lose air' during the first few usage is that the PVC stretches. This makes it seem like it's lost air as it's softer, but as butterbuts said, just reinflate it for a few times and it'll stop stretching.
What I did with mine is inflate it a week in advance to guest coming over and kept topping it up until it was firm overnight.
If you end up on the floor however, then it's a problem lol.

As for the white top one, it's like comparing apples to oranges.
Even comparing just the height (38cm vs 56cm) it's a big difference. 18cm might not seem like alot but when you have a guest of a higher age or someone with back issues sleeping on it , getting off a bed with a height similar to a fixed bed is hugely beneficial.
I've had guest come over and was surprised at how comfortable it is with a flat sheet on top as they've never slept on one before.

Yes, the PVC stretches and also when pumped up before bedtime the air heats up due to the pump. Overnight the air cools and so this reduces the pressure.

These are well known issues with this type of bed. It would be easy enough for the manufacturers to provide a way to measure the pressure. This would also prevent overinflation which is probably one of the causes of premature failure (at least one of my early ones I am sure failed because I kept inflating it to "firm", in hindsight I was probably overinfalting it).

  • I have the single version of this, and it appears to be good quality. However, I do not think this price is very good. I have seen this cheaper quite frequently.
