have you tried contacting auspost directly to try and organise a discount?

  • Although there are companies that can help you with bulk mail-outs, they're mostly contracted for the printing side of things, and I'd be pretty certain that only Australia Post could give you a discount on their $1.10/$0.55 rates. Their call centre is pretty helpful.

  • It is too late for me to go there today. Any number I can call? or Any company can offer better price? (I will be regularly to mail 250 - 1000 N.S.W. address every 2 weeks)

We are printing company ( www.EverywherePrint.com ) and we need to mail out a lot address mail to our clients from Today. (first 250 need to arrive before Mother day)

Thank you for your help! ^^

  • my email is [email protected]

  • Well this is the info on their website:

We offer a variety of delivery services designed to help you get the most out of your business communications. Our range allows you to choose the level of mail preparation in advance of your lodgement, helping you to reduce overall costs.

…their contact number is pretty obvious there too.

  • i think its called a franking machine, the initial costs are quite expensive, but if you can borrow one and reimburse…

  • +2

At work we are doing straight through processing (CRM to mail merge to print service via web service calls) and the company at the end of the chain will then attach a bar code to the address provided. It is supposed to be able to save you some money per mail…

  • You can get a franking machine or a barcoder, they mean that you pay at a slightly lower rate (i think it's 47c a letter for small mail, for example with barcoding). But as others mentioned, they've got setup costs. Their real advantage is convenience.

Your other option is to organise a contract mailing agreement with auspost, which can be much cheaper - you put all your mail into a bag, fill out the form telling auspost how much mail is there and they collect it from your work.

Really - you need to contact auspost's business department and work out an agreement. I don't think a private firm could do it cheaper, particularly as it's not bulky.

  • Couriers and other delivery services may be more competitive with other items (heavy/large), but when it comes to mail, AP is the way to go.

Sorry to sound like a broken record — but you'd definitely need to contact them!
