There's a reason why Panasonics are beind shipped out of stores so cheap… http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-10462105-1.html?tag=mnco…

    • applies to US models having owned a plasma there is no problem with it
Lots of discussion on whirlpool no one has found a problem

Wrong. Call Panasonic yourself. And why would it apply to the US only? They're exactly the same TV, with a different power supply.

        • I have, US model has different chips and firmware and features, if you owned one you would know! The panel is the same but electronics is slightly different. You have trolled every thread on plasma!

Pleas find one Australian report with a problem!
No one on whirlpool has had a problem
I have one with over 1000 hours clocked and no problem.

      • It's fair to provide this link to potential buyers… Don't really know if it's neg-worthy. Nevertheless, the instance of this problem is obviously widespread if there's now a class action suit against Pana for it.

The only difference between US and AU models will be iDTV.

I can find with very little inquiry that there are at least 2 or 3 anecdotal instances of this problem being shared in Australia. Evidently, not everyone uses Whirlpool.

No need to neg someone for enlightening potential customers to a widespread problem.
