Sisters Run Shiraz - $12 @ First Choice $11.40 in Any 6

140

I've been stalking the price on 1st choice since the last deal posted by @scratchmaster here and it's even better this time around IMO as no minimum and less in 6 or more.
Cab Sav also available here
Buying up big tonight!
Enjoy!

Tasting notes etc;
Lovely aromas of red berries mingle delightfully with spice and black pepper notes.
The palate is dry, medium-full bodied and amply rewards the promise of the nose. Suggestions of spice, plus red and black fruit, with a crisp acidity and appropriate tannins keeping everything balanced through the end of the long and tangy finish.
A versatile wine from talented winemaker, Elena Brooks.

Alcohol Content 14.5%
Style Spicy & Flavoursome Reds
Cellaring Medium term cellaring (up to 7 years)
Closure Screw cap
Origin Australia, Mclaren Vale
Vintage* 2013

  • Good vintage? The last I tried was the 2011

    • Feedback on all the other deals is very good. I personally haven't tried it but a colleague (she loves a drop) rates it.

  • Wooop - might grab 1 bottle, which should score a $5 off $40 wine spend voucher…
Then stock up with 6 more for $63.40 (= $10.57 ea)

I enjoyed the Shiraz more than the CabSav

    • Where can you get a wine voucher? In store?

      • +1

Its at the bottom of most (all?) receipts.. so just purchase 1 item and see before going back to buy more.

Seems to be a Coles-only brand, not a real winery.

Their address is a bland corporate warehouse in an industrial estate

Probably owned by a Panamanian shell company. Dandelion Vineyards Pty Ltd
At least its not owned by the French.

  • After the last deal I picked up a couple of bottles. Great wine for $12, if you like your heavy reds.

  • "…and amply rewards the promise of the nose."

    What does that even mean?

      Smells good, tastes better

      • Why not just write that then? I never understood why wine w@nkers try to imitate Shakespeare…

  • +2

I bought these after reading the last deal here. I have to say that this wine gave me a horrendous headache the next morning. Never again!

    • Funny you should say that both my partner and I have experienced the same

  • great everyday wine, tried it a couple of weeks ago.

  • I stopped by 1st Choice tonight and bought a bottle. Plan to get more on the weekend.

Was disappointed to see I did not get a "$5 off $40 wine spend" voucher - Ive had them several times before - anyone know if its a random thing, or if there is perhaps a minimum $20 spend before the voucher is printed ?

If anyone has any at home, can you confirm if any came printed on receipts of $20 or less ?

    • Tried it yesterday as well….didn't get the " $5 off $40 wine spend" either…..got some crappy offer I couldn't even bother to remember sigh

How much did you spend ? I got some 6-pack of beer for $8 offer I think.. but its not a beer I drink.

Woop, after waiting 2 months (backordered), I just got the phone call to say my 58-bottle dual-temp-zone wine cabinet has arrived so I can collect it tomorrow.
Finally somewhere to store my wine.. a 30+ degree house in summer in QLD is not ideal for cellaring.

  • what else is good to mixup the 6-pack with?
