    What piece will we receive?

    The drumstick?

    • +5

It'll most likely be any piece, but you might be able to specify when you're ordering :)

      • +2

        Awesome, good deal this is!

      • I didn't know that! :D Thanks

      • dont lie to us and give us false hope snackbox. you know when it comes to ordering, the staff will deny our specifications but by that time, we'd be too embarassed to back away because we've already committed. That cant fool me!

    • +2

Hey I heard you like wings, so here's a wing for your wing.

Any piece but wing is fine by me.

      • +2

Order a Red Bull to go with it, because Red Bull Gives You…

      • Wing is the best piece. We should dine together some day. You give me all your wings, and I'll give you my drumsticks.

    • +1

Always request the piece you want.

For example, when I get chicken, I will always request the thigh. You may want that breast piece but requests those pieces, otherwise you may get the tiny drumstick or wing piece.

      • +1

When KFC sells its Wicked Wings, it sells the drummet (small drumstick) and wingette (the middle bit with two bones) as TWO pieces.

But when it sells it as a chicken piece, it is one piece (drummet & wingette). Strange.

I think they rip you off when they sell it as Wicked Wings!

        • +1

Nah, 5 pieces of chicken is $12.95, 10 Wicked Wings is $9.95, so if you got a 5 piece pack of all Hot & Spicy wings, you'd be worse off (assuming you don't consider wing tips to be worth much/anything, which they're not, really, except when they're nice and crunchy on BBQ chicken).

  • QLD only? Or is Hot & Spicy back nationally?

    • +2

It's back. I'm from QLD and even I know this. Haven't you seen the "controversial" Tweet?

      • I just saw a report about it just 5 minutes ago, but plum forgot before I commented

        • Celebration time now :)

    • Goldcoast serves all sorts of hot and spicy on Cavill, even the strip clubs.

      • Thanks captain obvious =p

      • Don't forget the crud out of the pressure cooker filter. Environmentally Friendly Recycling.

        • +8

that's a filter full of 11 herbs and spices. TASTY!

        • +10

That `crud', traditionally found in the bottom of roasting pans, is used in all households and kitchens where I have cooked to make a sauce called 'gravy'. It a bit amusing when people imagine it is a criticism of KFC when they are acknowledging it is the genuine article:-p

        • +1

          @terrys:
          Mmmm graaavyyy!!!!

I never think of KFC potato and gravy as potato, but both sure are good on the chips and chicken… and buns.

Can't you guys just make it permanent? But then again wicked wings ftw

    • +14

Wicked wings and Zinger fillets aren't even spicy anymore imo

      • try different stores. sometimes they are in a rush or just lazy and avoid the full process so some stores are mild others are good. sometimes is spicy but has no flavor. george street in sydney was mild. my local store was very hot yesterday

    • +6

Once you are inside KFC, there is no sign of the $5 box. You have to know about it and ask for it. It's not an offer, its a lure.

      Sneaky tactics.

      • +1

i was talking about hot n spicy.. i know about the $5 box :)

  • +5

Runs from Tuesday 19th April until Monday 16th May.

That's very specific, thanks. Anyone seen a special on immodium?

  • +5

    Available until 4pm

I know where schoolkids around Australia are going first thing as soon as the bell rings for the end of day!

    • +10

The second will be the toilet I'd imagine

      • +2

Can say the same thing with any food.

        • +5

          Dude, go see a gp.

  • +1

is 4 weeks the entire run for HnS or just this combo?

    • For stores that don't permanently have H&S, it's a 4 week run, but the $5 box is available for 4 weeks only for all participating stores!

  • +1

Do we get the drink in QLD? We seem to miss out on that as its a different company/franchise which run KFC here.

    • Most likely not. Dont see how this $5 deal would be any different from all the other ones.

      • Yeah you do get it this time.

    • Yep you do this time. CFG got the baby cans you get on Airplanes, and you need to pay the extra $1 to upgrade to the full size can like the last $5 box.

      • God Collins are cheap. Use to work for them (Sizzler).

  • +3

can we substitute hot & spicy piece with original?

    • I believe you can tdw!

You have many guilty pleasures :)

      • i do. and i don't feel guilty about that at all.

        strangely :p

        • +2

haha, yeah KFC is quite a tasty indulgence and good value for money.

    • -1

Why would you want to? Hot and Spicy is awesome.

    • +1

I tried this at my local store and they refused, saying hot & spicy ONLY! :(

  • +1

Sigh not so special in WA. Hot and Spicy all year round. Price is good though.

    • Nah they stopped selling it in my local ages ago

      • +1

Where? Will need to avoid that KFC.

  • +2

Should have h and s all day everyday to be honest. QLD has it why not the rest? I would definitely go more often if they did. Seems like lazy management

    • +2

You would have to think that when they did have it it cost more than it was worth to carry all the lines, and demand was not as great for H&S. They generally dont guess at these types of decisions., its usually a result of analysis of much data they would clearly have.

    • +1

Working in a QLD Store, we have a much harder time judging demand at the end of the night with both Spicy and Original. We aim to have 0 wastage at the end of the night and having Spicy really makes things harder.

      • -1

for the pittance you pay your staff you should just let them have it at the end of the night then its not wasted.

        • you pay your staff

He's a worker, not the owner.

        • @PainToad: from what he is saying i assume he's a manager because that is managements role.

        • @kima:
          1) Ensuring stock isn't wasted is all employees role.
          2) Even if he is a manager, it's not up to him to determine company policy on wastage.
          3) He certainly isn't the person paying the staff or setting their "pittance" hourly rate.

          I get the feeling you're a kid?

        • -3

          @PainToad:

the staff have nothing to do with what levels are left at the end of the day its not their role its the managers. the staff do not choose what stock gets ordered or cooked that is the managers role.your just being argumentative and im not continuing it. i stand by what i said and that is they should give leftover stock to staff. your being oppositional but you have no argument why the shouldnt so you try to argue about company policies? not playing that game

If this is excluding Tasmania I am going to flip out.

    • +7

i think it is only Australia wide not sure about Tasmania and New Zealand.

  • Hey snackbox can you tell us what the other h & s combos will be?

    • +1

Any meal with original recipe chicken can be substituted with H&S in any combination (e.g. 7 H&S and 3 OR in a family feast). And AFAIK, Tas is included :)

      • Legend, thanks

      • +2

        Every store in Tassie?

Or maybe you need to upload a picture of a Hot and Spicy Map of Tassie?

  • Another deal from the Snack Box Specialist.

  • It's a huge mouth watering deal!!!!!

Curious can we order HS by itself in place of original?

    • Yep you can

  • I'd buy it if they had a Habanero Special, love those things.

  • this is the bomb!

  • Never tried H&S before so any idea how does it compare to the spicy one? Is it more hot or more crispy or whats the deal about it?

    • Buy one and try out yourself :)

  • +1

Is it bad that I come to these threads to find the "excluding Tasmania" for a cheap lol

  • Brilliant deal, been looking for something other than burgers

  • Can chips/potato & gravy be converted to more wicked wings?

    Which sides can be interchanged?

    • You cant change any side to wicked wing even in other combos.

And on the register in my store It doesn't let me change the sides to anything else, I guess because of the low price.

  • Pass on Hot & Spicy… I want KFC's Chicken Loopy's back!

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgPbbyhwROA

  • I love h&s, why can't they make that all year all stores? Where in Sydney is it all year?

    Is Tuesday $9 still on?

    • +1

      Town Hall, Chinatown, Railway Square
      Artarmon, Chatswood Westfields, Lindfield

      • Wow, how do you know all this…

None of which near where I live

  • -2

I don't know how you guys live not having H&S all year round.

Lucky to be living in QLD.
