Non-AU specific web deals

Hi All,

Just wanted to clarify what to do when you find a great bargain on a non-Australian website, but which do ship to Aus?

I posted my thread on Threadless in the General Discussion forums, because I wasn't sure if it would be accepted as a Deal, because the site is OzBargains, and I hadn't seen any international web deals submitted at that point, but later I did see some like this pop up.

So, where is the proper place for these deals? Have I missed a FAQ or submission guidelines page? :P

  • It is indeed a grey area.

    • I think it is a deal and can be posted here as long as it is accessible to Aussies.
    • However at the same time I don't really want overseas merchants start spamming this website.

I am happy for Australian users to post overseas deals that can be delivered to Australia (or online non-tanglable products).

    What do others think?

  • I think it is fine to be posted as long as the deal is worthwhile ie. huge bargain offered not like saving a few $2-$3 only. Dealextreme is a pretty good example since their items are ridicolously cheap although it's not branded. I'd personally still prefer a majority of Australian bargains in the website.

Also, I think shipping cost is necessary to be included for overseas deals.

  • Maybe a little tweak to the system to label it as an "overseas" deal, and then anyone can disable them in their preferences.

Like what you did with what you see on the front page.

  • I like to see overseas deals because often you get really great savings.
    My two cents.

    thanks

  • If they offer great deals eg Dealextreme I think they should be included, but what is a "great" deal - guess the Sage - ie Scotty may have to decide this - agree must have direct shipping/payment/involvement for Aussies.

Would like to find other great deal sites like dealextreme.
