    • Thanks so much for that info!! I called them but they sold out all their new green 930's. Although the sales assistant very nicely offered a White Demo 930 for the same price, and FREE SHIPPING to Melbourne!!! Cheers mate

As the owner of a Lumia 830, I can tell you that the phone is built like a Nokia 5510. I have dropped it, banged it against the wall, thrown it at stuff without so much as a scratch on the frame or screen. It's responsive and IMO, has a better camera than an iPhone. I bought an iPhone 6S, tested the camera, didn't like it and went back to my Lumia 830.

Great phone for a good price

Managed to order a green 930 from a regional store after calling, checking stock, emailing CCard authorization, postage details etc. Will be posted to me on Tuesday. Hoorah!
I have a 735 (and love it) but it is banished to the drawer (due to the camera). Gonna sell the 735 to offset this purchase, and see if I can return to Windows Phone OS from android. I use iOS for work. I'm familiar with all three OS' and I prefer Windows by far. I was disappointed with the RRP of the 950. Waiting in anticipation of a surface phone (hopefully) but will make do with the 930 in the meantime.

Negged? Why? Fanboys upset at me? Windows is a great OS. Apps are another issue, and one that doesn't concern me as all apps I need are available. YMMV

Ordered a green 930 online and 30 minutes later got a call from Tasmania (I'm in Melbourne) saying they only had a black one left and is it ok to send me that one. Yup.

Missed out this deal. So bad.

    • Did you ring you're local stores?

      • +1

I was thinking of that but someone's comment up there said none left in WA. too bad.

  • Great Deal on 930, shame no 4gx, but still killer value.

    • I guess that 0.8 second extra wait is a shame?

      • -2

Wow sarcasm… I'm guessing you still use dialup internet? Believe it or not there are many benefits of having 4gx especially when you don't have 4g coverage like where I live.

        • +1

No one cares about your coverage or your dialup.

        • Your attempt at witty sarcasm was an epic failure. Comparing somebody who sees no practical use of 4gx to being a dial-up user is just royally stupid. I have NBN at home and even I see no need for 4GX

          @Cyphar:

Haha angry little ants on here tonight.

That's really great for you Cyphar, but some people like having access to a wider/faster network.

Jubbly, I hope you get the hug you are apparently in desperate need of.

Haha angry little ants on here tonight.

Well that's what happens when you come on here talking shit

That's really great for you Cyphar, but some people like having access to a wider/faster network.

Your statement is confusing. Do you want wider or faster coverage? You don't get both with 4GX.

The fact is that 4GX is currently a niche product. Telstra don't offer caps large enough for it to be a viable replacement product. Outside of the major urban areas, it is currently complimentary at best. The fallback 3G/4G has a wider coverage and will continue to do so for a few more years.

That's on my 930 currently using Optus sim. Isn't that fast enough? ;)

Picked up a lumia 930 from my local store as a mothers day gift bit early, but for this price, how could I resist.

    • from which store? i m looking for one… called few stores in sydney but they don't have.

  • I think the lumia 830 has band 28 700MHz 4gx

    • +1

Indeed it does. Adds to the awesomeness of the phone.

      • +1

It does but I'd still choose the 930. :)

Unfortunately 930 is all sold out except three shops in NSW and they're all very far and they can do only store pick up. Shame I would love another 930…

    • I am feeling the exact same pain right now bro

  • There are a few cases on HN website that will fit the 830 and 930. Green flip case for the 930 is ten bucks if you can find it at a nearby store.
For hardcore stuff though I've found otterbox defenders on amazon for 25aud delivered. Good luck.

The 930 is available at Inverell and Tamworth, 3 each.

  • After found a white one in my local store I cancelled my order placed online. I believe it was from one store in Melbourne. So people in Melbourne may want to ring up on Tuesday morning.
Fyi the one I bought is a display model but has no sign of use. I got it for 170 bucks.

  • Apparently there are issues on Lumia 930 with Windows 10!

You will not be able to upgrade to Win 10.

Common hardware issue that surfaces with Win 10. Depends on the batches,
Will be repaired by Microsoft if they suffer from it. Or maybe Microsoft would upgrade it to the 950!??

You can definitely upgrade to windows 10. You might want to stick with 8.1 denim for a while longer until the kinks are worked out though.

      • Wish I read your advice before updating my phone.

I had my current L930 repaired under warranty with the official Nokia repairer in Australia - FoneBiz. Took them 1 week.

      • and you still on windows 10?

        • It's not an OS issue. It's hardware.

  • Has anyone who ordered online (shipped) received notification their 930 was sent out yet?

  • Bad news for most who ordered online - I ordered it 3 hours after the deal was posted and contacted chat and they have processed a refund - no stock nationally.

    • +1

Sorry to hear that; I got mine delivered today. The postman actually left it in the letterbox so I'm doubly lucky I (still) have one.

      • Mine wasn't sent off until yesterday

  • Did anyone experienced any problem with screen being yellowish? If the screen displays a pure white image, around the right edge of my screen, particularly the bottom right corner (where overheats), the white is a bit yellowish, just like very light beige stain.

I wonder if it is to do with the overheat. I got a display model though, which means the screen would have been on A LOT.

    • I have this on my current L930 - it's been 1.5 years and I mentioned this issue during my microphone repair, apparently it's normal.

      • hi do you know if its claimable under warranty? thanks

    • Oled displays always are poor at displaying whites. On windows phones pays to use dark theme, and high contrast mode when browsing. This will save battery life too. The panel on the 930 also has purple tint issue and even set to low brightness is quite bright. Those inky blacks are nice, and the nice display settings allow you to set the screen for your own preference.

    Finally received my new 930.
Did the microphone test and mics 3 & 4 are busted.
So having to send it to Microsoft for repair next week. Great phone though! (once I am finally able to use it. My 735 is back out of the drawer!)
