  • Must be an international unit, and its coming from kogan now that DS has shut up shop.

    • In the description it says:

Dick Smith is an authorised distributor of this product. We guarantee that this product is authorised Australian stock and comes with a manufacturer warranty in addition to the Dick Smith warranty.
      1 Year Intel Warranty (included)

I wonder if it's more expensive than kogan as it's aussie stock and the kogan one is grey stock? Just a guess though.

      • i wonder who "authorised" DS to distribute this product?

        • probably kogan HK who supplied it to DSE…. ;)

        • @nosdan: exactly - "OMG, they are authorised!!!" what does it even mean?

  • Cheaper on kogan.com

Nothing special, Z3735F CPU is really old hat too and you can import a much superior alternative running Cherry Trail Z8300 from Geekbuy, Nextbuy Gearbest et cetera for about $120 AUD delivered.

You can tell this guy has done his research by his use of et cetera! (And not etc)

        Ergo ipso facto I concur.

    • Though to be fair, the GPU's frequency is slightly higher in Baytrail. I'd still choose Cherry Trail anyday ;)

    • What is the reputation like on those brands?

  • I assume my BT Logitech K830 with BT will work with this? And a USB hard drive with PSU should be good to go? I know my Samsung Smart TV (2015 model) wont discover the K830.

    • Yep, should work. Spec's say it's got bluetooth and it's running windows so no problem. Your Samsung TV's bluetooth is probably nobbled by Samsung to only recognize specific devices like the remote, speakers etc.

      • Remove please.

    "Dick Smith"

  • This is the version 1 stick. Dont buy it unless you're 100% sure that the z3735 cpu is all you'll ever need.

Better off getting the version 2 stick which has the z8300 cpu.

Still $199 is better value than this $135 one but you really have to have a need for it. This is a solution looking for a problem.

    • The Australian RRP however is a giant rip-off tho

It is Kogan actually, Not DS…

Err, actually, it is Dick Smith.

When are people going to grow up and realise that businesses purchase and change trading names all of the time. You didn't all carry on like (pork chops) this when Woolworths and then Anchorage bought them out… "Oh, they're not DS, they're Woolworths; they're not DS, they're Anchorage; they're not Tandy, they're DS"…

  • I was going to post this, I think the 64Gb Micro SD bundle is a better deal (an extra $20 from 64gb MicroSD)
