Most people will need a wiimote for the nunchuck anyway, so you will be much better off if you buy the set from deal extreme with $50 delivered: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.26641. Only $30 more for an extra remote.
What makes the Japanese version so different?
nothing much apart from the packaging and instructions being in Japanese. bought 4 wiimotes, all with nunchuck and motion plus from them a couple of months ago. all working perfectly. saw no difference in quality from the original one from nintendo.
… because they ARE original ones from Nintendo :) Just with the packaging in a different language. Don't worry about the quality, worry about the price.

Please explain why on earth it would cost $10 to ship a nunchuck. Shows us some proof of your actual shipping costs so that we know its not just inflated to cover ur product cost.

As others have said, this postage cost is outrageous.
Shipping will probably double the cost to $20, but still a good price, especially for multiple units.
