Also telstra has a 3 month free platinum HD deal going but you do have to pay for $100 installation and $75 iq2 box + be a telstra customer(can get a $2 sim)

also i don't think foxtel broadband is provided over the NBN/Cable?

Just to highlight - 2 months free only on a 12 MONTH contract

$230?! That's extreme mate. Not ozbargain material.

    • get what you mean I'm on belong NBN 25/5 100GB 12 month for $55 per month could add platinum HD for total of $191(save $10 by choosing 12/1 on NBN), could get 2 month foxtel free as well

I got NBN 100mbps with fetch tv for $90 from optus. If those channels are not enough for you, get a kodi box setup iptv for free. Don't want commercials? Get netflix, we share it among family members and only pay $5 a month by getting the $15/m for 4 devices.

        • Where do you find good iptv playlists that work?

        • @skinny:

I was looking for a recommendation of a site that you use.

I spent along time looking at forums and blogs etc and seemed to find some links work other do not. Then the next day they won't work anymore.

Is this just the nature of "Free" iptv links?

I did see some groups where you have to pay $5 euros a month etc.

  • $230 per month? Jesus. If I could cancel after 2 months I would.

    Telstra has been fantastic!!!!

3 months free Platinum - no setup fees, no installation fees

The three months was up next week so I called up today and the guy offered 2 months more free of entertainment + sports (as most are getting offered).

    Love it!

    • This is still valid and you can get it on Prepaid (I did) - much better deal

edit: actually no, they're making you pay setup and box fee now (as mentioned in the OP). My mistake.

    • thanks, did you tell them on the phone that you would like to cancel or did you ask for a better deal?, did you say disconnection when calling telstra or just spoke to a normal department also what time/day did you call, thanks

      • Yes, I'd like to know also whether it was sales or accounts disconnections that you rang.

I rang the general telstra number and said 'disconnect foxtel' and they put me through to a general team I think. The guy straight away knew that my promotion time had ended and offered me the extra 2 months. Called at 3pm WST.

yeah same, I rang Telstra and said "cancel foxtel" or similar. I think it was account disconnections team I was put through to. the guy asked why I was cancelling, then what channels did I enjoy, then offered me the extra free 2 months of my favourite channels (sports).

        • Thanks guys.

    • I still have about 2 more months to go :)

    • yeah I got the same, was surprised when the guy offered me extra 2 months free sports, I thought he was gunna offer me some discount deal involving cost. Super happy with 3 months free platinum + 2 months free entertainment/sports

    • Bugger my 3 months free trial just ran out and I have gone to the sports +hd pack for $61 a month no mention of any extra 2 free months.

    This just doesn't feel like a deal…

  • yeh mate top deal

  • +2

After signing up to the 3 month free deal I couldn't imagine paying for this tripe. Only good thing is the footy in hd and even then without foxtel I can use the afl app (free sub thanks to ozb). And the ads, oh don't get me started about the ads

    What's "Foxel" ?

    • It's a voxel with a speech impairment.
