  • Price in title please :)

  • Very good price. Pity that delivery to WA is $25. Not to mention that Ozbargain has caused me to buy way too much Chasseur and Le Creuset as it is.

  • +1

What's it like compared to something like this: https://www.aldi.com.au/en/special-buys/special-buys-sat-4-j…

    • 30% more capacity, and it's French (don't know if that means it is nuclear powered).

      • +1

Yet $100 more expensive, kind of hope it is nuclear powered.

  • We have been using this for the last 5 years (mostly for slow-cooking in the oven) and the results have always been fantastic. Very good value, even compared to the Le Creuset we purchased for much more. To top it off, the coating on ours chipped off after a few years of use (our fault) and the distributors sent us a new replacement for free!

    • Did they ask you for the proof of purchase? I just lost mine but have everything else (box, etc… sigh) I just had coating come off my Chasseur after 3 years, I don't use it very much and clean it only with dishwashing liquid! no harsh scrubs.

      • They did. The invoice was printed on thermal paper however and it had rubbed off in time. I got the replacement from the local distributor(not PoK) who were kind enough to accept pictures (with the worn off coating) as proof of ownership.

Which is funny because I originally approached them on how to dispose of the old pan. They offered instead to send a replacement and I got nowhere closer to properly disposing of the old one. :)

  • How is this different to a Dutch Oven?

    • It's French :)

Dutch oven is more about the model, I think. It could be made of different materials, so the quality varies also (I have had cast-aluminium ones with Teflon, and cast-iron ones). I think this particular pot could be classified as one.
