  • Holy crap, those 2010s are a steal. Hello garage speakers.

  • Are the 2010's the same as 2010i?

Edit: No, they aren't. What sort of difference are we talking (I have 2010i's, but these are for a budget conscious friend)

Edit 2: Apparently a big difference

    • Our old Q acousitc rep told us that he thought the non i's sounded better.

and no there is not a BIG difference.

      • That was something that I read. Of course opinions can vary. Even if it was a big difference, the price is a big difference too. That is very cheap and I'm not knocking them as such.

  • Hi Rep, can you pair the 2010 compact bookshelf speakers with the 2000c centre speakers?

  • Unsure how well the centres would pair with a pair of richter Merlin series 5s. Thoughts anyone. (Coupled to a Mid spec Yamaha home theater amp)

Might come down to dimensions anyway

    • -

      • Probably a bit low end to be hooked up with Richters. They are $1,000 bookshelfs right? I also think having different brands across the front stage leads to weirdness.

You'd really want a center from Richter to match.

  • Great price for the Boston Acoustics. I have A26s with the A225 (3.0) - I've been happy with them, and I paid more than double that price.

  • Hi rep- what sort of connection is required?
plug and play from a standard TV?

    • Would like to know too. Assuming an amp is required.

      • of course an amp is required. Nowhere does it say that it has amplification inside.

    • I think this kind of speaker needs an Amp.

      • I think this kind of speaker needs an Amp.

        You think ?

        Jeeze, people.

  • Would the 2010's be overkill for surrounds?

    • Definitely not at $119. Very detailed and would make great surrounds IMO.

      • Will it be OK with my Panasonic Blu-ray Surround system?

        • Not sure if they'll play too nice with a HTIB system…might not have enough power. Those systems are usually designed to work optimally with the included speakers (and nothing else), and don't think you can do much as far as adjustments.

Could be ok for surrounds, but definitely not mains.

  • At the risk of asking a dumb question so sorry if it is dumb :)
I assume that by your pair counts you mean you have that many left and not that many pairs for that price right?

    • +2

Regardless, I would assume that 15 pairs mean that only 15 pairs (30 speakers total) are available at that price. Whether or not it's due to stock is inconsequential.

    • I assume that by your pair counts you mean you have that many left and not that many pairs for that price right?

A pair means two speakers. One for the left and one for the right. This makes ONE PAIR.

When it says "14 pairs", that means there are FOURTEEN pairs, with each pair consisting of one left speaker and one right speaker.

Every time somebody purchases a pair, that decreases the total number of pairs by one(yes, I realise that is a bit complicated). So, if there was 14 pairs, and somebody purchases 1 pair, then there will now be 13 pairs.

This process continues until there is 1 pair remaining. Remember, this means there are 2 speakers remaining, however they get sold in pairs (that's sets of 2).

OK, now guess what happens if somebody purchases that last one remaining pair?

As AlexD says, whether there are any more in stock is totally and utterly irrelevant.

  • I intend to connect the https://www.digitalcinema.com.au/q-acoustics-2000c-center-sp… speakers to a Samsung smart tv. I can't find anywhere where it says what connections it takes or what cables come with it. I am a newbie at this stuff. HELP!!Thanks

    • +1

The speaker is passive - you need an amp to drive it. The TV is not able to power the speaker on its own.

      • People thought it is a PC speaker?

        HiFi speaker needs an Amp.

  • 2010's are a bargain, thanks atish!

  • I am using Accusound 8.6 floor standing speaker, how is it compare with 250?

Seem the review from peoples is not that good.

  • +2

Anyone auditioned the 2010s up against the Voll B44s ($109.95 Shipped: https://voll.com.au/shop/b44/)?

I have the Volls and really like them. The 2010s look pretty similar on paper across most aspects but of course it's all in how they actually sound.

    • +4

looks like one of us will ;)

      • Nice one CB. Chuck a review here once you get them. I'd be interested to also know if the crossover compares too. Cheers!

        • The late bird catches….

  • Anyone suggest a cheap amp to go with them?

    • +1

Go 2nd-hand and get something nice for next to nix… but of course it all depends on what you want the setup to include & provide.

      • +2

+1 to this. Check sites like gumtree, and eBay sometimes have some good listings on receivers. Occasionally there are some good 2ch amps.

Just stay away from the common, cheap Sony receivers.

        • ^^^ This - you can pick up medium tier 2014/15 Yamaha receivers for about $300-400 that will sound great with these. I've had Sony and Samsung units die within 2 years and I'm still using a 20 year old Yamaha in my bedroom.

    • +1

Where are you Pacify? I'll/we'll find something suitable for you nearby assuming all you want is to build a nice little 2-ch system, yeah?

    • +2

you may be interested in the 2Ch pioneer amp over here

  • Damn the 2010's out of stock

  • Hi Rep. Can you do a deal with Svs Prime bookshelves?

EDIT: OK only no pick up with Paypal.

  • Damn the 2010s went quick… Anyone know a pair of similar prices speakers that would go well with a pair of 2020i's?

    • +2

      • Thank you just purchased a set then.

        • Any more 2010's? :)

  • hi rep, any more Boston Acoustics A 225C Center Speaker at $99? sold out while i was asking last question, damn….

    • +1

  • Two of these are already sold out.

  • +4

what amazes me is so many people buy but only a few actually leave an upvote.

    • sure thing, +1 from me!
lucky I purchased a set of A250 + A225C + 2010 to upgrade my old theater just before they were sold out :D
btw, is this combination a bit of weird? by having Boston main and centre to co-work with Q Acoustic surround…

      • not at all mate. You will enjoy them thoroughly

        • awesome, now even more happier, can't wait!

    • +2

      Sales > upvote no?

Just a reminder guys and gals

    be smart and use these
    https://www.digitalcinema.com.au/q-acoustics-2000c-center-sp…
as not only centre speakers but left and right channel also. @ $99 per speaker they are nuts

    • I missed out on the 2010s. Is it worth spending 200 all up to use these as left and right speakers? Will you be doing another sale soon?

      • get the centres and L and right. it will sound awesome

        • What about those vs the Boston Acoustics A 250 for an extra 60?

        • @BlazinPast:

Interesting but I would rather you match the the fronts … keep them all 2000c

        • @atish digitalcinema: I don't think I'd have space for a center - only left and right. In that case which one would be better? The Boston acoustics or the 2000c's as left and right?

        • +5

          @BlazinPast:

          Bostons
          …. what am I doing …. I finished work 5 hours ago.

        • +1

@atish digitalcinema: haha sorry thanks for the help

  • Any deals on subs?

  • Grabbed some of the Q Acoustics 2010's before they were out of stock.

Had been thinking of replacing some of the Boston Acoustics satellite setup I've got (soundware s or xs - can't remember). They're little cubes.

Rep - nice pricing - I'm assuming these mini bookshelf speakers will be a step up in sound? Still wanted something compact.

    • +1

      yes definitely

      • +2

Cool. Grabbed the centre as well. Sometimes the best purchases are the ones where you just do it. Refreshing for me not to research a buy for a change.

Won't rival the floorstanders (sold for space limitations) I used it have but looking forward to something new :)

        • Good man.

" Sometimes the best purchases are the ones where you just do it. Refreshing for me not to research a buy for a change." very refreshing to see here on Ozb

        • I have the xs aswell and want replace them and missed out on the 2010! Doh. Let me know how they are!

  • Just ordered a Q Acoustics 2000C Center Speaker, Thanks.

  • Thanks rep, bought the 2010 and the centre as well. Now to buy a amp. Anyone have any cheap recommendations?

    • did the same, you decide on anything yet?

      • Not yet. I heard the Daytons are pretty good for the price

  • +1

Any chance you'll be offering up some more of the 2010s? - great price

  • Can you suggest a cheapish amp for the 2010's & 2000c ?Cheers

  • any more 2010s?

So the S426HCS5 sub has built in 200w amp that drives the package?

    • +1

nope, it's only the subwoofer has built in 200w amp to drive itself, you still need a proper AV amp to drive the other 5.0 speakers.

  • any recommendations for a 7.1 channel surround sound for my new tv?

    any deals? :D

  • Hi Rep, my ex just ordered the A 250 Floorstanding Speaker Pair from you. She wants them mainly for music and to enhance the TV. Can you recommend a "cheap" amp suitable to hook up to the TV ? She'd want ARC to work so that internet content will come out the A 250's.

  • more 2010s pretty please?????

  • +2

    Hi Guys

Trying to see if we have other colours …. would that interest you guys?

    • Other colours of the 2010s? Actually yes, that might be enough to twist my arm ;)

  • Could you give us a combo deal for a pair of B&W 685 S2s and the Marantz NR1506?

    • no sorry, please call for that.

  • +2

https://www.digitalcinema.com.au/q-acoustics-2010-compact-bo… $139 slightly more expensive because of gloss

    • No other colours Atish?

      • +2

posting a new brand up in about 10 mins … keep an eye out

        • Hi Atish,

For the not so cluey, how would one best utilise these speakers? In particular, the Q Acoustics 2010 Compact Bookshelf Speakers.

For a PC? To put in a garage? To connect to a TV alone?

Again, thanks for your help. Doing a great job.

        • +2

@Rocket6: If you have a decent amp these will serve well in all places you mentioned above. If I am doing a great job and you like the prices …. where is your upvote my man?
