In before 16GB complaints… the iTunes video rental trick

    • That's a good hack :)

    • Yep, brilliant, will try on the wife's iPhone

    • +2

maybe, but you shouldnt have to do tricks like that.

    • booo all it did was delete 2gb of my spotify cache

  • +2

Not a bad price. I was just in the apple store yesterday and the staff member actually said "it's too late in the cycle to be buying a new iphone now, just wait until september and the new phone release".
    Love that salesmanship…

    • +1

I agree, these are excellent prices (for an iPhone) but we're 9 months into the 12 month cycle. Won't stop the punters though as your average apple user doesn't care about spec, just the shiny factor.

      • +5

Pretty sure Apple won't be releasing another 4" phone with decent specs for awhile. The next iPhone in September is likely going to be an incremental upgrade as the 10 year anniversary is coming up next year. Chances are the prices will go up too with the state of the Australian dollar.

        • Talking about the flagships here. The iPhone 7 is anyone's guess

        • Really?
All speculative but what I've read suggested a 4 inch 7 and then the 4.7 and plus models

        • +2

I agree with Shameless. I just sold my 6S and changed to SE as I prefer the 4" size. I believe the SE will be on sale for at least 18-24 months. If you want a 4" phone this a great time to buy, not to mention how much cheaper the SE is and has pretty much all the 6S features.
In fact I even prefer that the SE has the older slower TouchID chip as i found the 6S unlocked too fast!

        • @wizzfizz:
Totally agree, I tried the 6 for a while using a borrowed one. Hated it.

Never bought a current gen iPhone, can't justify the cost but I feel a better time to buy is in a year once it's been superseded and the used market is flooded. But then I do live a few gen phones behind, and happily so.

        • Yeah, SE is only 2.5 months old, wouldn't expect a new model till end of March next year if they stick with usual 12 month cycle. Also I don't think the AUD would be an issue, it's actually slightly stronger than September last year before the 6s/+ release.

        • @muncan:
I really doubt they will release a new 4" phone so soon after waiting two and half years to release this one. This was a bit of a speculative market for Apple. Surely there isn't a market out there to release a new 4" so soon for Apple.

        • @wizzfizz: How can it be too fast to unlock?

    • ozbargainer vs apple salesman
you should know who will have a better idea of apple prices

  • missing space grey now its on sale of course

  • +1

Dammit, I got one from the US last week and after bad credit card conversion rate and sales tax it was more than this. :(

  • Oh no … too late … was looking for such a deal two weeks ago (went overseas and could have used TRS … ). Missed the Kogan deal. Ah well … silver 64GB looks like sold out anyway.

  • found an iphone 6 128GB for $839.20 Link

    • gold isn't selling well

  • +3

I'd rather buy the iphone SE 16GB from Harvey Norman for $629 after $50 AMEX rebate than a company selling this for $100 more than RRP.

  • Thanks OP

  • +4

For anyone buying the SE, KG Electronics have 1900mAh battery case which comes down to $8.

Hoping if I order today, the phone comes before the weekend :)

    • +1

Awesome, just what I needed :)

      • Awesome deal and maybe worth a go, but these add bulk to a phone (SE) with already top notch battery life. Just manage your phone and you'll get heaps of life out of it.

        • I still need to buy the SE ;)

Been on the look for a deal for 64GB model.

I have heaps accessories for 5S which I bought from Dick Smith closing down sale. I had no idea then thatthe SE would be the same with 5S. Happy days :)

        • @datafellows: Thats handy. There were less than 10 SE 64gb available unfortunately and they got snapped up real quick.

  • +1

    All 64GB units sold out

    • Cheers, will update post. I hope they get more stock soon…

      • Doubt it as stock has been hard to find locally

        • Good point. I think Sydney Apple Store only had rose gold in stock

  • +1

Out of stock for the 64GB models now.

    • Yep have updated listing. They should get some more stock soon.

      • I hadn't refreshed in time to see the other comment. :(

  • +2

they are $100 over Apple price, its a $55 discount so 8%, no deal.

  • +1

Not quite $100 saving with cash rewards on the 64gb model. That's a good saving for an Apple product. Too bad they are sold out now. :)

  • Are these US models?

    • +2

      No made in China.

    • From the ebay page -

So much ignorance in that statement not sure where to start

      • -3

Sorry did I hurt your feelings?

    • +5

      A refreshed iPhone 4? God you're stupid.

      • -3

Arguing back with someone who differs in opinion on the value of a small, expensive phone? You must be so smart.

        • +5

Refreshed iPhone 4? It's more of refreshed iPhone 5s. It's more of iPhone 5s in terms of design with similar internals to iPhone 6s.
With not many manufacturers making a phone at 4 inch size, I think it's one of the solid options for a small phone (despite Australian pricing).

        • +1

I don't remember differing on opinion of the value, I simply remember calling you stupid, because your comment was 50% fanboyism and 50% idiocy.

        • @Oversimplified: I think you're right.

        • @deanylev: You sound like a genuine pleasure to be around.

        • @freakatronic: Right back at you

        • @deanylev: I am ;)

        • +1

Hey with all due respect I'm thinking we're discussing about phone not a certain part of your anatomy. So size =/ value.

  • +2

Apple themselves have it for 679, so you're really only saving about 50bux. Their original price is too damn high.

  • I can add one to Telstra monthly sim I have for $28 a month so $672 for a 64gb over 2 years, will do that when my daughters iPhone 5 dies.

  • My iPhone 5C's battery blew up and took it to Apple and they were able to replace my iPhone free of charge. They placed an order for me but I will sell that and upgrade to the SE. Essentially will save me close to ~$400 with this deal. Thanks!

  • I personally think my Nexus 5X is brilliant, albeit it's still a little bit big for my hand. It always gives me cramp if I try to reach the far upper left corner of the screen single-handly. I'm a regular sized dude btw, so I think it will be more of a problem for ladies. Also I just like being able to slide it into my pockets in jeans. I can do that with 5X but not quite. In these cases iPhone SE sounds really promising. I'm currently waiting in hope that with the new flagship release coming up in Sep SE will have a price slash of former phones then I'll certainly jump boat.

    • Im using nexus 5x currently as well. Not a fan of big screen. I prefer 4". Would jump boat anytime soon as well. Not sure whether to wait for SE to drop price or just get the iphone 5s $399 from optus

  • There is a black 64G left, last one atm

  • Rose gold and silver 16gb in stock. Only one of each.
